As a regular user of metaphors I would say it was like a Nissan Cube, cosy and practical with good view points, sheeeehite from the outside. *Available for paid reviews if required*

I took my nephew to a game in the family stand a few years back and we had to get moved as nobody child-sized could see over the barrier unless they were at least three rows back

If you can speak to an officer… good luck with that! Still four months from submission to get allocated a planning officer - that’s not determination of decision. Even if this is being done properly (I hope it is) it’s not going to be in place before Christmas. PS whoever mentioned temporary structure it’s a bit of a misnomer - this stand is not going to be temporary despite its construction type (will be in place for over 28 days) so will have to apply for permission as above and get in the queue. Minimum is 28 days for a temporary structure, Bournemouth temporary south stand was given five years before it had to be removed, after five years the club applied for renewal the stand has now been in place for 10 years. Yup - anything over 28 days needs planning so there will be no circumventing of current delays so the stand being temporary only matters from a construction basis.

Wonder what the new stand will be called? Can we come up with something better than the new name for Bolton's ground! The Go Outdoors Stand.

I spoke to Geoff dunford years ago he told me the trouble they had getting planning permission for the South stand when it first was erected Similarly, the idea of a fan zone was suggested 20 odd years ago when I was on the SC committee. That was a complete no go as permission was not going to be granted. Same as music entertainment. Pre and post football match day, it was only allowed for a single performer with a backing machine (different for rugby though who could have full bands!). The club has spent a lot on local services (RPZ and bus stop improvements etc,) to try and help the Sainsburys deal go through, so funny how the authorities are less strict now. You scratch my back......etc, so you never know.

Exactly, the thing is the club should be in talks with the planning officers so that the plans meet with their agreement before they are submitted. This should shorten the time that it takes for the planning committee to approve the plans. If you can speak to an officer… good luck with that! Still four months from submission to get allocated a planning officer - that’s not determination of decision. Even if this is being done properly (I hope it is) it’s not going to be in place before Christmas. But did you pay for pre planning advice to fast track ?. I agree its all about money. As you rightly stated this is classed as a large scale major and will set the club back £3500 plus Vat. Then you must pay around £150 per hour for advice and consultation. This is just for advice on the possible chances. Then you can pay even more for a (PPA) planning performance Agreement which is serious money ranging from £15000 to £30000 plus Vat. Basically this covers almost everything from advice to design and recommendations to councillors which are usually approved. I think the government brought in the pre planning fast track system a few years ago. I'm sure somewhere you can find the fees of each council . If you got the cash the government reckons 8 weeks or slightly over on the website . Otherwise as you rightly said it could take many months.

Please Board we still need a south stand because an alternative project could take years. I don't think there will be any opposition now with the breaking news we could be moving and what will happen to the Mem. A big supermarket maybe ? . The local Greens / activist are well educated people and know how to be versatile on political matters better than us . Probably they will support a South stand because it safeguards the protection of the stadium. We await the drawing!.

Missed the Derby game ,has the new stand been built yet ? I watched the game with a contractor who is based in Jersey. His company has a branch in Bristol and they work exclusively for Bristol City Council within Bristol. We discussed the South Stand and he said that Bristol City Councils own applications are taking 18 months to process. Hopefully we know a way of bypassing the system or just build it and hope for the best as we did before.

It does seem a BOLD statement from D.B given the lengthy waiting times even to be assigned a planning officer. Either he is unaware of the process or as I mentioned last week. The club is fast tracking and paying big money for pre planning. If you go on the BCC website fees range up to £30k for large projects. The waiting times is around 12 weeks for planning . Other than that I haven't a clue. Judging by his comments he seems confident assured and certain it gonna happen this summer !.

You would have hoped that they have looked into it already.
