Anyone know where the screen is going to be moved to? Rubbish bin guessing as a quarter of it doesn’t work. Picking on the retired, that's rude.

away terracing at the back my guess The new stand will be configured to allow for the scoreboard to remain in its current location I was also told it's staying and the new stand will just run up to it. Awful decision if correct. It never works properly anyway. Should get rid of the thing and run the stand up to the away terrace. Would look so much better.

I know that the club have previously been in conversation with a company which provides the big screens for some of the Premiership grounds, so, hopefully they will use this opportunity to upgrade the screen, regardless of where it is situated.

I'm starting to think all they are going to do is replace the present stands with upgraded stands with a fixed roof etc, which then means that there'll be no need to seek further planning permission as they match the present stands footprints. Perhaps that explains why they are still selling season tickets for the SW stand, as the seating numbers will be the same?

Or is it all guesswork? I’ve not read much on it, nor read much of this thread tbh. Like anything, I will believe it when it happens.

No idea if it's correct. He said it was to do with the services under the scoreboard as has already been said. Hope he's wrong as that board really is a waste of space.

Our Head of Sales mentioned it in this article. www.stadiumbusinesssummit.com/sbs23-guest-spotlight-bristol-rovers-fc/“We are looking to increase the seating capacity in that area from 1,300 to around 4,000. This is a big investment and needed a plan that showed we had the appetite for that many more fans to attend games. But we feel confident we’ve answered our own questions when it comes to that, and what we can see as a return on the investment. “Retro fitting this means that we have to consider existing floodlights, the location of our big screen and the need for more services and facilities, so you end up working with a number of outside agents, on one single project.” Also linked via his Twitter account:

Heard many people say building where the scoreboard is was always an issue. Access, electrics, annoying for those in Alton Road. Never sure which it is, if any. Chuck the scoreboard on top the Thatchers and all those in the new south stand will have theatre style seats with binoculars as the new board will just be a portable TV.

I sense he's just guessing then as whilst as I'm sure "services" was just a Gaschat fact and TG said the real issue was entrance from the old Alton Road turnstiles, which I assume are the steps shown on this link: www.google.com/maps/place/Jeannieb+Holistics/@51.4859526,-2.5819878,3a,75y,316.84h,96.84t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sxGssaQXUqHISWsQEkCB5sw!2e0!7i16384!8i8192!4m17!1m9!3m8!1s0x48718e1d9494fdf1:0xe989c580692b118b!2sAlton+Rd,+Bristol!3b1!8m2!3d51.4856116!4d-2.5816887!10e5!16s%2Fg%2F1tdzql5s!3m6!1s0x48718e1d92e74c27:0xdaf6de1415b46444!8m2!3d51.4858592!4d-2.5817908!10e5!16s%2Fg%2F11c5rt8nwy Looking at then I doubt there's any "services" running though the concrete under the scoreboard and something would have to be done with the steps if the club were going to increase the width of the stand to allow it to join up with the away terracing.

There’s no way we’re fitting 4000 seats at that end of the ground, scoreboard in place or not. That’s 500 larger capacity than the Thatchers end in about half the space. Seats as well, which take up more space than terracing.
I’d be happy with 2000 and something that is less exposed to the elements.
