Not a fan of the number of supporting pillars but absolutely an upgrade on what we currently have. If the drawing is accurate we would have 3 pillars less in the SW stand area. Will make a big difference of our view towards the Thatchers End.

Will make a big difference of our view towards the Thatchers End. Unlike the south tent as it is now it would look even better if the stand was the full width of the pitch but the t v screen would have to go somewhere else

Any idea why the South West Stand is so low in height compared to the South Stand, it seems we're missing out on being able to fit a couple of hundred extra home fans in the SW Stand? I’m sure there’s a good reason for it, why not email TG to express your concerns. Rest assured he does not bite and will reply to your email. No need to waste TG's time when we have helpful posters, unlike you, with some good responses on here

I have no idea as regards your question hence I don’t offer the answer.

If a planning application has already been submitted then why isn't it listed on BCC's planning portal? It takes a while for the planning staff to verify that they’ve been sent the appropriate documents and upload them. It could easily be in excess of a week before they appear as the planning department is understaffed and overworked.

Have a look on the Arena events website. Look at the stadium they created two years ago, a new permanent home for Edinburgh rugby club. This is a 7800 capacity stadium and the stands appear to be similar to our plans.

That's the only bit that looks sh*t to me. Would have liked it to wrap around the same height. Would also like to see how big a gap there is between the away terrace and the new stand. Judging by the plans the new stand comes close to the floodlights on the away terrace. Currently there is a big gap with the scoreboard. I'm thinking the new build goes almost up to the corner flag ?.

Unfortunately no dots to count!! However a rough calculation is coming out at about 3,800 to 3,900. There appears to be about 25 rows across the main stand. Difficult to judge for the corner section. The current SW stand has 380 seats. Very approx. it is about 10 times that plus the corner. Will let you have more details once I start construction! Yes, looking at it 24 rows x 25 seats approx = 600 x 5 blocks = 3000 + the wraparound in the SW corner and the bit at the other end. I don’t think they’ll be far short of the 4000 they talked about earlier. Got to be good. Exciting times. Well done and good luck this summer to all involved. UTG!

Sight lines from East Stand and Boxes. Last home game went up to the top row in the SW stand and seats nearest the East Stand can not see the corner flag at the Thatchers End. Surely you mean west stand? Yes sorry so excited getting the stands mixed up!!

Good to see some positive developments, the plans look encouraging At the very least it can’t take much to put a roof over the away terrace? Will the new stand be given to away fans? Will it be split? A few teams in league 1 could bring 2,000 plus if ticket’s available Either way, will be good to see something new, been a while!! UTG Think it’s the least we could do for away fans , so long as we can quickly dismantle it if we ever play the sh1te again 😃 If we put a roof over the away terrace then fans in the grandstand won't be able to see part of the pitch, that's why we ended up with the strange looking family stand at the other end of the terracing. I don't think there's an easy solution to that problem, thanks to the ridiculous design of the stand.

Obviously this is just the initial plans covering the main aspects of the build.
What it shows is the stand runs the width of the pitch. It will be the height of the west stand. The scoreboard will be within the stand. The southwest stand can be no bigger as the west stand will block the view of most of the pitch. It will be big enough to help create a more enclosed feel to the stadium.
On the next images (if we get any) it will be shown more how it will actually look.

Have they started taking bookings or season ticket sales for our spanking new stand as yet?
Derby County Sheffield Wednesday & Leyton Orient fans should all welcome more away seating.

I see Ticketmaster has now changed the shape of the south & southwest stand so that the corner is filled in. No dots to count yet
