They really should move the pitch towards the Thatchers at the same time Just looking at birds eye view. At a guess the distance from goal line to wall is about 8 yards south stand, 10 yards Thatchers. After the Alex Fletcher incident being in the public eye and other numerous incidents I think there may come a time where run off areas or padded walls may become more important in stadium design. As the pitch is being dug up would they move the pitch 4 yards north and the south stand 6 yards north. Still reasonable run off, more than some other grounds I've been to At the charity game I had a walk between the Thatchers and the dribuild and from the dribuild I was very surprised how much space there is behind the goal, if they think about this they could do something in the Thatchers aswell, bring it forward a bit if they don't move the pitch, we will get this ground to a 20,000 capacity lol

Not the full width and looking at half way line and east stand, definitely moved pitch north

TG's suggesting it will on the twitter feed lined to that tweet? Surely the actual plans will appear on the planning portal in the next or two? Planning permission not required its a temporary structure TEMPORARY BUILDINGS & STRUCTURES There are specific cases in the government guidelines that mean planning permission WILL be required: If the temporary building or structure will be in use for longer than 28 days If the temporary building or structure is closer than 5m from your site boundaries If the floor space is greater than 200m2 If the building’s volume is more than 25% of the existing building If the building is more than 25% of the area available on your site If assembled structure reduces the space you have for vehicles parking or manoeuvring If the structure materially affects the external appearance of the overall building

Planning permission not required its a temporary structure Why did TG tweet then that planning had gone in? Regardless it hardly sounds like a temporary stand like the previous tents, although I believe we had to seek retrospective planning for them anyway.

Planning permission is reqired for larger temporary buildings that will be in situ for over 28 days. As the building is temporay and prefabricated then the permission will probably be for a fixed period such as five years , whereby the club will have to re-apply when the permission has expired, if they want to keep the structure for longer.

I can't see planning permission will be time limited for a stand costing £m's to construct. I don't believe even the tents only had temporary pp.

Not the full width and looking at half way line and east stand, definitely moved pitch north But the West stand is still centred exactly on the halfway line, which it wouldn't be if the pitch had been moved. Are these official diagrams or from someone handy with a design app?

View AttachmentSquint or wait until 10am. I assume confirmed away seats wont show It will be greyed out same as the east away end. You can see that is the whole stand as the east most part reflects the mock up (fewer seats). Maybe it got put up and then taken down again as they realised they’d not quite got proportions right!!

I don't believe even the tents only had temporary pp. You are correct that the family stand and the south west stand were granted retrospective full planning consent. The South Stand was also granted full planning and for the additional seating added by the rugby club in 2006 which would now be in front of the scoreboard.

Pure guess work & supposition again 🙄 Somebody recently estimated that the cost of supply and construction could be in the region of £5m. If you look at Edinburgh Rugby's 7,000 seater arena built by the same company the cost were thought to be in excess of £10m so that figure could be fairly accurate. We do know that it has required a secured loan so it won't be a small amount. Once again Wael has backed the club massively financially. arenagroup.com/project/edinburgh-rugby-stadium/

Was expecting the planning application to be validated by now and showing on the portal. Usually only takes a week.

Pure guess work & supposition again 🙄 Haven't we taken out a £6m loan to pay for it - confirmed by TG on Twitter, I think.
