How do you know it’s costing “millions” ? Pure guess work & supposition again 🙄 Haven't we taken out a £6m loan to pay for it - confirmed by TG on Twitter, I think. Have you got a link?

From memory, somebody posted about fans going into meltdown about the loan being taken out, when it was probably being used to replace the South Stand, and Tom replied "Correct" - not saying that I have the wording 100%, but that was the jist of it.

Wasn’t that confirming the Charge related to the South Stand redevelopment? Don't recall any actual figures. (It's on page 1 of the New Financial Charge thread.)

So with the recent regular annual losses of £3m that means we are already £9m down. (If the mentioned loan figure is correct - then add interest at an alarming rate). Purely subjecture, but if RPI is about 11% then any loan is going to be at least 15%.
Let's hope the new home, away and 3rd kits look great as we all better chip in and buy them all to help Wael fund the club.
I also hope we have got a massive sponsorship deal to help cover at least some of the loan.
Tony the Till used to moan about losing £200k a season. These amounts are absolutely terrifying.

I can't see planning permission will be time limited for a stand costing £m's to construct. I don't believe even the tents only had temporary pp. i am going by the permission given on the south stand at Bournmouth which is similar to our new stand. They have to re- apply every five years. But of course some councils are different to others. it is likely that their will be planning conditions set against the permission when it is probably granted in about 4-5 weeks time.

There's no chance it's costing 6 million or it would be a non starter considering we plan on moving in 5-8 years. Will be 1-2 million at most imo.

How do you know it’s costing “millions” ? Pure guess work & supposition again 🙄 Somebody recently estimated that the cost of supply and construction could be in the region of £5m. If you look at Edinburgh Rugby's 7,000 seater arena built by the same company the cost were thought to be in excess of £10m so that figure could be fairly accurate. We do know that it has required a secured loan so it won't be a small amount. Once again Wael has backed the club massively financially. arenagroup.com/project/edinburgh-rugby-stadium/ Edingburgh rugby stadium cost 5.7 million and holds 7,800, so i can't see how one stand with less than half the capacity could cost more than a whole prefab stadium, if you want to check it out look on their wikipedia. I did read where a non league club, put up one of thses stands at it cost 50,000 per 100 seats, which would be a total cost of 1.75 million, can.t imagine for one minute we would be spending 5 million on a prefab stand that we might be removing in 5 years.

I reckon it’ll cost less than a million . With absolutely no knowledge I’ve arrived at that figure. Just like the others ! 😃

Am I alone in thinking I am happy to just wait and see what it looks like? Is it just the modern way? Or just an item for discussion during the closed season? I am more confident our current ownership set up will get it there or there abouts, let’s see what it looks like when it’s built. So much supposition on this thread. People fretting over the seating plan and pitch position. That’s not a scale drawing ffs! What I am interested in is the fabled concourse. Will we need new licensing for this? That’s presuming there will be a bar serving alcohol? Or is it just a concourse with nothing in it. But hey preaching from my own rule book…. Let’s wait and see! 🤣

The club is gone.

If you're terrified by taking out a loan just to build a temporary stand how are you going to cope when it comes to financing a new ground? Not sure where you're getting your interest rates figures from as interest rates are nowhere near 15% at present.

You are simply confusing your Aaron Collins transfer threads with your South stand threads. Easily done. We are getting Six Mill from WBA right? Sure I read that on the inevitable “new kit thread”. Gawd I hate the closed season!

That is all.

So it's going to cost exactly the same figure as the sale of Aaron Collins ?
Mods please merge threads.

I did pop up yesterday when moving from the sw stand to the new south stand
I wondered over to the away terrace to have a close look at the footprint for the new stand.
Observations were it didn’t taper away like it looks on aerial photos/plans. It looked just as wide where the scoreboard was as the other end.
I did notice a white line on the pitch about 2 meters in so I guess that’s for the pitch move.
I did take a pic but can’t seem to upload as says it’s too large.
It could look a lot better than the image shown and looks as tall as the west stand.
Let’s hope it generates more atmosphere & better gates.
I for one think is a good move and looking forward to taking my seat.
