This Meccano stand behind a goal with pillars that people are getting excited about isn't going to attract me back to the ground. Parking will still be abysmal. I'll stick to iFollow. Yeah best you stay away newbie 50+ years standing on the terraces of Eastville, Twerton and Horfield (up until recently). Nowadays I require comfort, convenience, a bit of luxury and prepared to pay for it. Unfortunately, the Memorial Ground does not satisfy my requirements, nor ever likely to looking at the modest improvement plans. The Covid period has released the pay-per-view genie-from-the-bottle and there are those of us who now prefer to watch live football at home, including the lower league local team that we traditionally support. It is only a matter of time until the iFollow Saturday 3pm & geo-blocking (easily overcome anyway) restrictions are lifted. May as well get on with that and allow clubs like Rovers who fail to provide modern facilities to take the alternative income from live streaming and accept lower attendances.

I take it if you were a Luton Town fan, you would be saying I’am not going to bother attending home games to watch premiership football because we haven’t got state of the art facilities.

I think that's pretty sad really, staying away because you're not in luxury, I'll be there even if we're up the downs aslong as the team are putting in 100%

Not so much of a rush now to get south stand open by mid August. We lost 3 big clubs to promotion replaced by average clubs. I can only see Derby or Pompey bringing up to 3000 It's gone from 5-6 huge followings to 2-3. This will take the pressure off timescales and 'sell outs'.

Surely the bigger concern is that more often than not there are no *seats* available for home fans - yes the terraces are not sold out but many can't stand for that length of time...

Yeah hopefully we attract lots more fans that can’t or don’t want to stand for 2 hours. Get off to a good start and maybe we can hit 12k even with away only having 1000

If the south stand has a concourse that's out of the elements then that's pretty standard for a modern ground. Oxford, Derby all the same really. Coventry, just more space. MK Dons, just bigger concourse and a good view. A temporary stand that does the same as those listed, I'll take that

Despite their current woes, I’m sure Exeter will also take up a pretty large allocation. One of the few “local” games they have!

Tbf if he’s watched us at all 3 grounds then like me he may be getting on in age and as I’ve found out over the past 2/3 years standing for all the match is a struggle sometimes. I do need a barrier to lean on when in the Thatchers or East terrace!! No one ever knows medical stuff people may be facing. Anyway I’m sure the new stand will be a great addition to the club.👍 UTG!

Surely the building of the new stand isn’t only about the new season, with a new stadium ,if it comes to fruition being at least 5-7 years away ,the new stand will be constructed with the possibility of promotion or a decent cup tie happening in the meantime & offering more seats which were at a premium for some matches last season.

I love a barrier ! I try to go first half in front of it leaning back, then second half behind it leaning forward and balancing my Bovril. No seat for me yet, I'm still standing (yeah, yeah, yeah !)
