The ground we have these days is 50 years out of date Why exaggerate when the West Stand was only built in the late 1990's and the Grandstand not that many years before that was built. The ground is probably a decade or so out of date but it's not like Wael hasn't spent his time trying to do something about it.

Brentford have the newest stadium in the Premiership? Yes I saw Forest Green there in league cup and not got the luxury like other prem stadiums. Brentford is soul less built in between luxury flats prefer Griffin Park

The atmosphere for league games is supposed to be one of the best in the Premiership.

Good numbers, hardly ever any trouble and we had some good results over the years. Lived about 2 miles away from Griffin park for a few years. The amount of Boozers around there was ridiculous. You can get hammered in a different pub every night of the week , no one knows you got a problem. Happy daze 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺

Yeah best you stay away newbie 50+ years standing on the terraces of Eastville, Twerton and Horfield (up until recently). Nowadays I require comfort, convenience, a bit of luxury and prepared to pay for it. Unfortunately, the Memorial Ground does not satisfy my requirements, nor ever likely to looking at the modest improvement plans. The Covid period has released the pay-per-view genie-from-the-bottle and there are those of us who now prefer to watch live football at home, including the lower league local team that we traditionally support. It is only a matter of time until the iFollow Saturday 3pm & geo-blocking (easily overcome anyway) restrictions are lifted. May as well get on with that and allow clubs like Rovers who fail to provide modern facilities to take the alternative income from live streaming and accept lower attendances. Why not see if you can join a space in one of the boxes in the West Stand? The food is good, the seats are comfy and spacious enough and the beer is cold. I’m not sure what you are willing to pay but I think I pay about £1700 per year per ticket which is £70 per game.

Well i can sit just below you in the west stand and pay an average of £21.70 to sit in one of the old blue directors seats and get food in a local pub or else where in the ground for about £15-00 or so, so I think you have been ripped off mate paying £70.00 to sit with a load fans' some who are to far up themselves .

From my experience from being an ex senior local government officer i reckon the planning application consultation period will be coming to an end soon, and the application will be going to committee for determination in the next 2-3 weeks. Should get permission, but there will be conditions, one may be that the there maybe a time limit on the stand of say 5-10 years then having to re-apply. But that is just a maybe

Some plans at present are taking up to a month just to be registered by BCC.

Topper ffs there must be work going on behind the scenes and it’s blatantly obvious this has been happening because the club wouldn’t of torn down the old tents unless they were 99% sure they would be able to get it replaced!

Whatever discussions have taken place behind the scene Rovers, like anybody else, still as to follow the planning procedures and submit a formal planning application - which I assume was done when TG tweeted "planning's gone in" a couple of weeks ago - then wait for pp to be granted.

The club announced weeks ago that the planning application had gone in, so unless there is a major problem with the planning system , interested parties should have been written to and the application advertised outside the ground. I am not sure about planning portals but anyone wanting to see the plans should be able to visit the planning office reception and ask to look at a copy and write in with there observations. Anyway that is how it used to / should work. The consultation period is 21 days.

Griffin Park was my longest journey to football match circa. 1988. I came directly from Plovdiv (Bulgaria) via 2 coaches a plane and 2 tubes and met by mate in the toilets at half time.
On a gloomier note I was also there on the day of the Hillborough disaster.

I would just like to add, after reading my post, that we needed a meeting point and time (mobile phones has not been invented) and toilets at half time seemed the obvious arrangement, just in case you were wondering!
