I would just like to add, after reading my post, that we needed a meeting point and time (mobile phones has not been invented) and toilets at half time seemed the obvious arrangement, just in case you were wondering! Glad that you clarified that point! I did wonder if "2 tubes" was a typo. 😁

Whilst there is a cynical side of my brain with all the lack of planning that’s visible on portals etc, the logical part of my brain says we wouldn’t go ahead with all of this without there being some direct conversations with people somewhere and someone actually managing this process. Would we? It somewhat defeats the object of it all if it stands empty for a good part of the season whilst we are waiting for permissions and certificates. We didn't have planning permission when we installed the family stand on the east terrace and the south west stand. We applied for retrospective permission once the council found out.

Even if the proposed new stand development is not completed by the season start date it should not be an insurmountable problem.
Season ticket holders sales are up this year but there will still be room for several thousand buy on the day tickets at The Mem.
The AWAY Standing area can be slightly increased if required and the South/South West Season Ticket holders might, unfortunately, be asked to temporarily relocate.
A temporary facility could be provided for the new stand Season Ticket holders as a last resort. Hopefully, no need to waste money.
Luton Town are managing to implement major ground changes at the drop of a hat. Their proposed temporary developments have much more of an impact on their immediate community.
It would be surprising if Bristol City Council does not actively support this scheme. Better facilities for AWAY fans visiting Bristol is a WIN/WIN scenario and should be welcomed by all.
It would appear that there are no obvious or significant demonstrable negative effects on the local neighbourhood that might prevent this necessary and sensible stadium development.
Finance, or the lack thereof, has been the most important factor limiting improvements at The Memorial Stadium since we returned to Bristol. In the case of the proposed new stand this is taken care of.
We can all hope it will be completed on time but there is no reasonable justification for a pessimistic or sceptical approach to the plans.

I guess that's easy to say if you're not one of the supporters who's bought a s/t on the assumption they'd have a seat in a stand? I can't understand why the club took down the tents before they'd obtained pp if they weren't intending starting work constructing the new stands.

Relax. They’re not going to be without seated stands for away supporters.
It’ll be done and all Is will be dotted and the Ts crossed

It’ll be done and all Is will be dotted and the Ts crossed I very much doubt there would be the level of confidence, to the point of near sarcasm, if the club were unsure of this happening. I expect a flurry of action and the stand being up, quickly. Surely, it’s a done deal.

I have been in contact with the football club regarding the issues and delays that the council are experiencing and concerns raised on here. The CEO informs me that the club are using an agent, the club are working with the agent to bring things forward with the council. Despite the delays with the application appearing in the portal, the club says that things are still on track at this stage and everyone is working hard as they can to meet the deadlines for the time frame set by the club to get the stand intalled on time.
I thanked Tom on behalf of us all for all the hard work that he and the club are putting in to get this sorted.
I tried to attach the email but couldn't, but can assure you that the above info is accurate as it should be.

I also emailed Tom earlier in the week to see if there are plans for more bars in the fan zone as the queues are massive, he said they are working on it this summer, all good things

But there haven't been any "issues" - the tents were taken down as soon as the season was finished. And the only "concerns" are from those know it all forum members who can't believe that the club know what they're doing and that there own knowledge of planning regs trumps everything. The club have already started selling tickets for the new stand so they're clearly confident that everything is on track.

Thanks for the update.

Exactly there are no issues with the application at the moment, the only issue is with planning who need to get their house in order. And as i have pointed out before there is nothing in planning law that says you have to use a planning portal to consult with interested parties.

I think it’s the quality of staff. Getting food on the east terrace is so frustrating - it’s just students who don’t give a stuff and have no concept of customer service - they move at a snails pace!

When I put in a planning application 12 months ago for an extension South Glos sent a letter to the properties either side of mine and two to the rear (who are completely blocked out by ginormous trees anyway). Not even a sign on a lamp post.
Could be our consultation is similar and they've issued letters to neighbouring properties as necessary and are just waiting for any necessary responses.

Baggins said he would not watch Rovers if they played on his front lawn once. I didnt realise they actually had in the past.

Missed loads of second half action this season cos my mates can't get their pints down in the 30 second time frame between finally receiving our drinks and the second half kick off!
