Gordon 5 Was stranded in their penalty area for the second goal

Belshaw 7.5 not his fault it's not his fault, it's not his fault.....
Quansah 6 no marking second goal.
Connolly 6.5 some nice blocks but poor distribution.
Gibson 7 best of defence.
Sinclair 7 nice finding space and taking on JJ.
Ward 5 worked hard with little end product failed to stop cross on second goal.
Bogarde 5 unfortunately had a Hans in both goals.
Gordon 5 bounced around a bit but couldn't inspire confidence.
Collins 5 lacklustre.
Marquis 7 m o m put himself about a bit, set up some nice runs and almost finished from 2 half chances.
Coburn 6 put the ball wide after post hit but worked hard against solid defence.
Subs: Evans 6 added something different but a fading light from last season.
Loft 7 full effort from the out of fashion forward.
Whelan nole
Ref 8 w o t m! sensible decision making and stepped in only when necessary. Nice @rse.
Wycombe 7.5 got the basics right in 3rd division football, strong and tactical. A good team unit. Hanlon a handful and dangerous on the counter.
They played the 3rx division way, a bit more direct rather than f@rt @ssing around with the ball as if we're Brazil or something...?
We got what we deserved.

Belly was not at fault for either goal. I was right in line with the 1st goal and the ball swerved wickedly and would have beaten most keepers. I know it is his near post but if he took a step to his left that would have exposed his far post. The 2nd no chance of saving that. Belshaw 6 did little wrong Quansah 5.5 pressurised by an experienced forward, he still showed moments of quality Connolly 6 decent, sacrificed for a change of tactics Gibson 7 the pick of a young inexperienced defence. Sinclair 6.5 another half time casualty . Ward 7 he's turning into a good signing,the pick of the midfield. Bogarde 5 he got his pocket picked, Joey blamed the pitch, i'm not so sure,i do like his strong tackles though,he'll learn. Gordon 5.5 flitted in and out Collins 5 played out of position, I feel sorry for him, his frustration was obvious. Marquis 7.5 M.o.M he led the line well and was unlucky not to score. Coburn 5 worked hard,he looks fitter but missed two good chances that he would have buried earlier in the season. Subs: Evans 7 a good cameo,he has to start imho. Loft 6 bulldozed his was around, unlucky when he hit the woodwork. Whelan n.o.l.e. Ref 8.5 superb, sensible and unfussy. Wycombe 7 man for man better than us.they know how to win games whilst not playing well I can see them reaching the playoffs, not pretty but 3rd division savvy. |
