Who is he? Is he still following the Gas? Never hear much of him but he was a huge figure for rovers fans!

I think it was Andy Warren. What a legend! He certainly did some great commentary over the years.

I have to be honest, I never enjoyed his comms. It’s nothing personal and it’s not even his heavy Bristol accent, it was just his pitch and tone especially excitable moments.
My favourite local commentator is Ali Durden or Andrew Sheridan who does the Bath rugby.
They almost become deeper in tone rather than higher which sounds rather like a gaggle of fighting alley cats.

Andy Warren and Dave Rogers aka Screen Soccer coverage Rovers home games for best part of three decades starting from the Twerton Park era.
They were literally sent a text by the club to end their long time coverage of Rovers a week before the 2020 21 season started and that was that an end of a fantastic era.
Dave has never watched Rovers since he know takes in Yate Town matches but Andy has continued to watch Rovers.
Dave also wrote regularly in the Rovers matchday programme for a couple of decades besides commentating on Rovers games.
I saw Andy yesterday before kick off. Both are genuine longstanding gasheads.

I wondered what happened to Dave.
Hopefully that is not true as you would think after 30 years loyal service, he would deserve better treatment.
Pity they did not do the highlights last season, as they would have produced a DVD highlights compilation that would have sold loads and made the club a lot of money.

Two lovely gentlemen who always went the extra mile to help the club. They used to work their gonads off to get the game rerun in the bar after the game. Unfortunately on most occasions most people couldn’t bear to watch again.

Always enjoyed Andy Warren’s passion, not so much Dave’s flippant sarcastic style, grated on me as hard as listening to Mark Lawrenson. Two top Gasheads though who clearly did an amazing job for the club.
It’s a shame Screen Soccer had to go, but moving with the times it’s the nature of the beast. Nobody buys dvds anymore sadly & personally, had no interest watching highlights of a football match I’d literally just seen.
The 80’s/90’s throwback clips on YouTube however, are a joy to watch.

I am a complete Luddite - only got wifi after COVID, but is there a link to the season compilation on ifollow then? Never used it so have no clue. I don't have the time to sort through all the clips of games on the clubs you tube channel, but if there is a two hour compilation with no adverts or me having to select or reselect anything that would be great. Going through all the games on you tube myself would probably take me all day and hours of recharging my phone several times! |

Yes and CD's for the tunes, a man shed with no smart speakers aka listening devices, all old school kit, no adverts or news and a fridge containing a 5 litre box of Wilkins Farmhouse Cider from down the road near Glastonbury, absolute bliss. |

Yes you have to click a few times but that’s just the same as fast forwarding. Get better technology and stop being a boomer. |
