One intriguing aspect of the match against The Rams yesterday was The Foul Count.
It appears that 15 fouls were given against Derby County and 7 against us.
Similarly, while no Rovers players were booked 6 visiting personnel were given yellow cards.
This is a demonstration of the improved position Rovers have in the Fair Play League.
In 2021/22 a frequent criticism was that Bristol Rovers were more aggressive and combative than necessary.
Last season we incurred 93 bookings and had 9 players given Red cards.
This was one of the worst records in EFL league Two.
To date in the 2022/23 season 73 Yellow cards and 3 Red cards have been given against the Gas.
10 teams have been given more Red and Yellow cards in EFL League One than Bristol Rovers.
Ipswich Town, Plymouth Argyle and Sheffield Wednesday have the best overall record.
Cambridge United and The Tractor Boys have not had any Red cards this season.
Peterborough United wth 55 Yellow cards have the lowest total so far.
Fleetwood Town, Shrewsbury Town and Accrington Stanley have the worst disciplinary record in EFL league One.
Shrewsbury Town and Accrington Stanley have had 7 Red cards each. Fleetwood have had the most Yellow cards.
It looks like mid-table in League position and in the Fair Play table for The Gas this season.

Of Accrington’s 7 red cards, four of them are from the same player😂
