Interesting that since Paul Trollope (almost as equally as adored and great guy), no other manager has gone on to manage at a higher level than us after leaving, including DC.
I get the emotional outpouring.
But, in reality, he (DC) never hit the heights with them as he did with us, and I think he has found his level - which there's nothing wrong with - but obviously PV don't want to be hovering around potential relegation. Nor did we.
I can see both sides, but I think time will tell they made a tough, but ultimately correct decision.

I think something must have gone one behind the scenes they are still 6 points ahead of the relegation places. They could lose all their games and still stay up

CEO left a few weeks ago, the PV statement about consulting with ‘staff and senior players’ tell me that something is going on. If players had a say I’d think that would be worrying. I suppose the DOF, Flitcroft, would have a big say and there seems to be little respect for him from the fans so something is going on. Perhaps we’ll hear about some things happening in the next few months, apart from a new manager. UTG!

Fact checker no other manager has gone on to manage at a higher level than us after leaving Wrong: Terry Cooper left us to manage at Birmingham City getting them promoted in his first season to league one renamed Championship after Premier league created so managed in second tier they saved themselves in his second season on last day of season to retain their status then left to join Exeter City. Also Fred Ford managed Swindon Town in the old Second Division in 1971 after leaving Third Div Rovers.

PV only need 3 points from 4 games, realistically, and that assumes a great run from Oxford or Cambridge, and maybe only 1 point unless O or C United get 3 wins from 5. I bet both will not reach 47 points. One might.

I can see his biting Vale in the ass in the long run, decent manager 3 promotions on his CV speaks volumes. It seems strange them sacking him after he was only given a 5 year contract in May I've always had a soft spot for DC W I H H B probably not got to remember him as a legend,we saw what worked out when Francis and Ward returned for second spells. He would be a good fit for Torquay should they sack Johnson but I don't think he will be short of offers from other clubs, dare I say it Scunny would be a challenge for him.

Francis went on to manage QPR and Tottenham (not sure if QPR were in the same division when he left Rovers for them) Lets not forget Bobby Gould either

Credit given for management for getting us to this stage without us feeling effects of a zero points return.

''I meant since Paul Trollope''.
You should have said ''since Paul Trollope'', then.

I've seen plenty of average games at Rovers over the years, and, on the whole, I find the football we play to be more entertaining than in the past. I would guess that, given the increase in attendances, I'm not the only one who thinks this.
