Quite enjoyed the bit where he said we let Championship teams train at the quarters ahead of playing those lot I was about to say that! I guess we get some cash and make some good connections with Champ clubs....all good It's usually reciprocal.

I'm more interested to learn how the club historian thought that we were formed 10 years before we were actually formed? Who said you won't get an answer? My Chinese abacus let me down LOL but like Martin Peters look it up if not old enough. I am considered to be ten years ahead of my time. Chemotherapy and three life saving surgeries has affected my mental arithmetic but on a much more happier note I have just had fantastic news following my latest CT scan. I am now cancer free. That's better news for me personally than a new stadium to be honest. I sincerely hope I shall be around to celebrate the clubs 150th anniversary in 2033. Brilliant news, really pleased for you. Enjoy many more years supporting the Gas!

I am as they say in football parlance "Over the Moon" since the news as are my family & friends. Geoff Twentyman has also been very supportive over the past few years and others have been very helpful in helping me through the treatment and recovery from surgeries. I can't speak highly enough of our wonderful NHS & it's staff. UTG

So only now slowly listening through this when I get a chance. At the start of the interview I noticed Wael uses the term ‘finalised’. This doesn’t sound like something that’s a million miles off. Sounds like the core of the deal is pretty set but that they’re negotiating about the finer details.
Seems to me like everyone who needs to want this to happen want this to happen then we can go through the planning process. However this isn’t exactly Horfield or green belt land. There’s no home owners nearby to kick up a stink and those who could be opposed to this (the existing landowners) have been bought out of the land or will be moved on soon anyway by the council.
I’m very optimistic.

Obvs he has to be cautious but I think he thinks it’s a goer !

But then he waffles on about sorting out a long term lease etc, either it's all a bit of a smoke screen by him and a deals good as done or just like the UWE he's nowhere near agreeing a deal, I can't see pp will be a major issue if BCC are backing the scheme agreeing how it's financed could well be the bigger issue as I can't see Congyer proceeding with it if they aren't making £'s out of the build. I still can't see how leasing a stadium at the FM is a better option than leasing from the UWE.

I’m having an extension built so I’ve spent a fair whack of time negotiating recently on stuff like bathrooms. I’ve known what I’ve wanted and the sales staff have known I’m serious but know I need a good deal and that I don’t want to be paying silly money over the alternatives without getting extra value from it. Amplify that a few hundred thousand times to the scale of a stadium and you end up with quite a few rounds of poker where everyone wants to get the best deal for themselves but they don’t want to show their hand too early in case they get done over and pay over the odds. It would be very easy to say just sign it and get it over with but this is our future sustainability at discussion. Get it wrong and it could be the next Eastville or we could end up the next Coventry. It’s the difference between the stadium being a noose around the clubs neck or it being the vehicle to us getting to heights we’ve never experienced before. The sellers want to sell it, the buyers want to buy it but the deal has to be right.

All well and good but at some point Wael will have to say "deal" or "no deal", I can't see Congyar messing about applying for pp in the hope that Wael agrees it's a good deal once they get pp. Surely in the next few months Wael's got to decide to proceed with the deal or let Congyar proceed with alternative plans not including a stadium.

Who's likely to offer the better, a major property developer with a piece of prime estate in the art of the City or a uni with a bit of waste land they were desperate to develop?

Try and work it out Topper 🤔? I thought we were talking about the % the land owners wanted out of the deal? I can't see Congyer having any interest in building a stadium unless they are going to make some decent money out of the deal.

GT already said Mangotsfield Severnside & UWE never happened. Looking at a long lease for new stadium maybe 100 years to secure the Future of the club. Bristol City Council are helpful. Payment details up for discussion with developer. Developer will deal with BCC for planning permission. 12500 new capacity at Mem with new 3500 seated stand will be ready for next season. Barton admired by Wael. It's just a question but we're did Wael say " 3500 seated stand will be ready for next season " ?. He acknowledged it is a hope and DB will make an announcement next week. Although I may of missed it or it was a tweet ?.

If it weren't nailed down they'd nick it, if they had no use for it they'd nick it anyway Waving their willies around praising eachother for being scabby, little, thieving scum. But Higgs sorted the initial deal with Uwe! We don't know the full details but know it gave away naming rights, that it included lecture halls, uni gym, jogging track, uni bar etc for Uwe. Will the developers want all that?? 🤣. Only the ones involved will know the fall details. Just hope it is a better deal and that Wael hasn't got to the stage of taking a bad deal, as he couldn't find another site.
