Obviously some are not used to end of season games where a result does not alter our season Might as well all not bother then for the rest of the season? The higher we finish the more attractive we become for new signings in the summer. We have beaten teams that played much better than Vale did today, so its disappointing to hardly trouble their keeper. |

Joey will have to recruit very wisely if Rovers are to push for a playoff place next season. Just hope our appalling home record is greatly improved and don't have the usual ten or so games to get going!

Maybe JB has already made up his mind on him Just a pity he didn't do that when he had him here on loan, if he does move on this summer then JB's probably wasted the best part of £500K on his transfer fee, agents fees, signing on fees and wages. |

The top payers get first dabs until it reaches our level. Personally would play none of the players who will feature in the squad next season and start with the loanees youngters and out of contract players. If some of next seasons players pick up a serious injury in these non event games then the usual gang of witchfinder generals will lambast the manager for playing them |

Given JB's seen all the players, apart from Ward, all season I don't get the notion he learn a lot from a handful of end of season games, personally I wouldn't offer contracts to any of the players out of contract this summer in order to fee up room for newcomers. JBs got some decisions to make certainly but I wouldn’t put too much on today. We’re safe, had a good last month and overall have done ok after promotion. As to not offering contracts to any out of contract player that would be wrong. We’re already going to be losing our loanees so we will need to keep some of our players. Iirc PT did something similar in 2010 (?) and exchanged some trusted players for the likes of Blizzard, Reagan, Wright etc.thinking they could do better, it didn’t end well, we went down in 2011. We will need some calm minds looking at recruitment, not an over reaction after a poor game with nothing on it. UTG! |

If this is the way it is, it doesn't pay respect to paying customers or other teams fighting for promotion or survival.
The best we can hope for is a no injuries/discipline problems end to the campaign and the start of a rebuild for next season...

Not sure why some on here are so upset. We're safe; it's time to experiment and see who's up for it next season and who needs to be shipped out. So hopefully JB has learnt something about that. It's a rare opportunity for any of our managers to do this since we always seem to be on the verge of promotion or relegation and can't normally risk this sort of thing. I do admit that it's not satisfactory for those who travelled all that way, but it's a dead time of the season for us when results don't matter. Were not Scunthorpe slated for experimenting with their team against us last season ? Seem to recall almost everybody here saying Scunthorpe hadnt fielded a weakened side. Results do matter. People are paying money. If results dont matter i suggest Rovers fans dont go to anymore games this season. Save your money. |
