I can see that and it’s a good point but unfortunately JB has more of a history of saying things and however right he is it gets lost because of who he is. But we’ve got used to that haven’t we? UTG! Judging by the amount of vitriol on here towards JB I don’t think we have. Large swaths of gasheads hate him and he might as well be managing the sheeds, waiting for him to step out of line, still a forum is a opinions shop and everyone is intitled to their opinions however biased they may be UTG so many hate him that they can't wait to pack out the mem to voice their anger against him and we now have to increase the capacity to get more in to hurl abuse at the manager. You sure you are on the right rovers forum? |

'Large swaths of gasheads hate him'? i beg to differ, i believe a small minority dislike him intently, a sizable chunk think he walks on water and a big majority are prepared to give him a chance and judge him in the roll the club pay him for. Personally i believe JB has worked very hard and sought help to control excesses that have got him into trouble in the past and that is to his credit, i can't see that he has let Bristol Rovers down since joining us ,he has played a part improving the club off field , on field we have had a season of consolidation and over the next two/three seasons we will see if JB has what it takes to be a very good manager. I wish him well and fervently hope he can take Rovers to the next level. Every thing he says is scrutinised by those waiting for an oppertunity to chastise him and he does give some ammunition to those who wish to interpret comments certain ways, football is littered with such characters, from Shankly, Clough, and co to Ollie and the like, as for the Teds, who cares what they think , they need something to wake them up having to listen to the cure for insomnia that is monosyllable N.P, up the JB and Rovers! Nailed it Halifax. |

Seems like the Blackthorne love him. The kind of people staying away are the kind who didn’t make any noise at games anyway so you can’t tell they’re gone. JB has already proved them wrong anyway. They’re hanging on desperately to “we were league 1 when we got him and we’re league 1 now” despite the thing we all know very well, that the team he took over were perhaps the worst squad of professionals we’ve had at the club in league 1 for decades and there was an enormous contingent of mediocrity which was flushed down the toilet thankfully. Pretty well evidenced by nearly every member of that squad going on to league 2 at best. And the manager in waiting going to kings Lynn. The reality of football management is that managers come and go and should Joey flop next year, they’ll still be wrong. We had some great memories |

I reckon, looking at the crowds, the vast majority accept him as a good football manager who has made us overall a better team. Can’t get away from questioning him when he says/does something that you feel is not right. And of course it is forum and everyone is entitled to their opinions. And in the end every opinion is biased both those for and against. You can’t just say opinions that are different from the one you hold is a biased one, they all are. They are just pov. So long as respect is maintained in exchanging views no problem.👍 UTG! |
