I understand that Carlisle United will probably wish to play us at The Mem on a Saturday.
It might be beneficial for them to play Exeter City AWAY on the Tuesday beforehand.
Similarly, Exeter City will probably want a Saturday match at The Mem.
They might benefit from playing at Carlisle United AWAY on the Tuesday beforehand.
This all seems very sensible. I doubt BRFC would have many objections.
Not to be taken too seriously or to heart. Computer might just oblige.

Like the map - reckon I’ll be doing 13 or 14 away games (one of the few benefits of living in the East Midlands (and having family to stay with in Devon for the Exeter game)).

There may well be weaker teams in Division 1 this coming season but on the other hand, Rovers often failed to beat sides in the bottom half of the table! I suppose it will be cautiously optimistic.

True, although you would hope it would be easier to change that next season, rather than if we only did well against the bottom sides

We could ask for Blackpool away on Tuesday and Fleetwood away on the Saturday and make a weekend of it.

Wigan minus 8 and slapped with a transfer embargo, sure that won’t be the end of the points deductions, so that’s one gone already.

Plymouth, Ipswich, Sheff Weds and Barnsley would all have made the playoffs even with an 8 point deduction, although admittedly not with a transfer embargo. What that actually means varies according to where you read it. Anyway, I wouldn't write them off.

Yes! remember Coughlans Rovers team played Bolton who were in a similar situation to Wigan. They were getting battered every week playing kids but sure enough got an easy W at the Mem....

Yep 😂 Also the 0-0 at Wigan in 2020/21 when they were in similar financial troubles and getting beat every week whilst playing a load of kids. Pretty sure Nicholson missed an open goal from a few yards out…

How does the squad look leading up to the official transfer date this Summer?
The list below comprises the signed squad, ranked on appearances in the 2022/23 season.
Players ages are in brackets.
APPEARANCES and GOALS SCORED in all competitions for Bristol Rovers in the 2022/23 season.
AARON COLLINS . * (26). * 49+4. * 16.
ANTHONY EVANS. * (24). * 39+12. * 5.
LEWIS GORDON. * (22). * 43+2. * NIL.
LUCA HOOLE. * (21). * 34+10. * 3.
SAM FINLEY. (30). * 35+8. * NIL.
JOHN MARQUIS. * (31). * 24+18. * 11.
JAMES BELSHAW. * (32). * 41+1. * NIL.
RYAN LOFT. * (25). * 21+20. * 6.
JAMES CONNOLLY. * (21). * 30+6. * 2.
JAMES GIBBONS. (25). * 22+12. * NIL.
SCOTT SINCLAIR. * (34). * 23+10. * 6.
LUKE MCCORMICK. * (24). * 15+15. * 1.
JORDAN ROSSITER. * (26). * 17+4. * NIL.
GRANT WARD. * (28). * 17+2. * 1.
JERRY LAWRENCE. * (18). * 2+1. * NIL.
JED WARD. * (20). * 1+0. * NIL.
JOSH GRANT. * (24). * 0+1. * NIL.
RYAN JONES. * (21). * 0+1. * NIL.
HARVEY GREENSLADE. * (19). * 0+0. * NIL.
(Paul Coutts , Trevor Clarke and Anssi Jaakkola are not currently included.)
A fairly inexperienced squad at League One level.
Players aged 30+ = 4. Players aged 26-29 = 3. Players aged 22-25 = 6. Players aged 18-21 = 6.
The significant area lacking experience with predominantly youthful players is the defence.
Midfield and attack minded players are in general more experienced and of an older age.
A greater number of permanent players, playing 35 plus games, and more goal scorers are likely to be key targets for improvement.

Being a supporter of one of those many teams is a bonus for travel, for a very long time i had no real idea of the sheer amount iof teams, in a relatively small area, even though Brum is the second largest city in the UK. Got a feeling I’d be Villa if I lived there

(One or two surprising totals) APPEARANCES and GOALS SCORED in all competitions for Bristol Rovers in the 2022/23 season. AARON COLLINS 49+4. * 16. ANTHONY EVANS. 39+12. * 5. A greater number of permanent players, playing 35 plus games, and more goal scorers are likely to be key targets for improvement. I’m know many will call me wrong and understandably so but i have a feeling big John M will prove to be a great signing, if given the chance and stays
