The guy who scored and had our only other decent chance apart from Ward's long range effort? He's a damn sight better than Marquis and, where's the goal, Loft.

Better side first half without creating anything, as soon as we made the changes we upped the tempo and suddenly looked like a team capable of scoring goals. We really do look a threat when we play at a quicker pace and have players like Collins, Sinclair & Evans moving the ball quickly. We simply aren't able to play that way with the way we set up from the start. Really hope we can keep Gibson snd also Ward who I thought was outstanding tonight, those two would give us a huge boost going into the summer transfer window Ward would be the only one of our players starting tonight who I would keep for next season. Gibson ditto, but would be surprised if we could sign him.

Feel abit hard done by there, feel like we were worthy of at least a point.
The likes of Quansah, Balcombe and Loft can’t be here next season if we’re serious about progressing.

Shrewsbury acting like they have won promotion - they were dreadful. Really think we need minimum 15 / 16 signings… and some brave decisions on moving on some of this squad. The squad that travelled to Shrewsbury this evening had more than enough to beat Shrewsbury with the right tactics and game plan. Unfortunately Barton has been flogging a dead donkey for months and we play with so little pace , width or tempo that we start with a handicap pretty much every game. The subs changed it because the players were midfielders and we had width , if Barton takes this horrible formation in to next season then we’ll go down simple as that. Spot on. How many times this season have we had to change personal and formation at HT cos it’s not worked and we are behind. Doing that against a poor team like shrews whose only talent is time wasting was begging for failure. Really don’t get it.

I didn’t watch tonight, had some pins to jab firmly into my eyes. The stats make it seem like we had a good go, that not the case? If we lose Sunday we will have survived by a smaller margin than many of us had hoped.

Another game where we should have taken 3pts, but gifted the opposition the win.
Whatever happens over the summer, I feel we need a settled GK and defence going into next season. It’s no wonder we keep conceding soft goals with all the chopping and changing week in week out, there’s little cohesion or understanding there. Not bothered so much atm whilst we try different players etc, but it’s been a constant issue all season and not just because of injuries.

I mean obviously there will be ins and outs over the summer thats obvious but we lost that because of crap tactics and a crap game plan. And it’s not like it was a new idea worth trying out, the 3 strikers formation has been pretty much a total disaster since Barton started using it and has seen us drop down the table since around the turn of the year. Decent results have generally come when he has switched back to more midfielders , the win at home to Peterborough and the draws v Ipswich and Barnsley were with a 5 man midfield for example. Seems like every time we play anyone other than a top 10 side we go with 3 strikers , play crap and fail to win / usually lose.

Seriously lacking ideas and quality in the final third atm.

Well done Halifax . As we’re the greatest club in the land for ending other teams bad run of results I fully expect a 3-1 defeat. #UTG 🙄

I think we've got a lot of work to do if we're serious about challenging

Why don’t we donate a goal start before we leave the dressing room it saves how long into the game before we do

I like the squad we have but it’s so young and has zero knowledge of the dark arts bar perhaps Finley. And we need width and pace , with Anderson and Sinclair the only two wide attacking players at the club the squad is very central and very predictable to play against as we saw tonight until the subs came on and gave us width. Barton has built a squad that’s dug himself tactically in to a hole.

Thought Mcdonald played alright when he came on, he's got a good cross on him

Hoskins: “And the Rovers players throw their shirts into the away end for the travelling Gasheads after the final away game of the season, what a lovely touch” Keith: “Uh well the kit man won’t be very happy” F**ks sake have a day off lad. Brookman should be long gone; a totally depressing summariser, time to depart old boy, your time is done with your free lunches on the BBC.

Don't forget he's got Hoole behind him who's totally incapable of putting in a decent cross.

Top priority is getting Grant Ward to sign a new deal, best player on the pitch tonight.
