Looked like a penalty that. I can't understand how that wasn't a pen, it looked worse than the foul the ref gave on the edge of the box involving the same two players |

62% possession and we have not tested their keeper. Trouble is Russ, when we get to ten yards outside their area we have not got a clue how to score let alone even get a shot on target. |

Looked ok in possession. Ward especially. Bogarde and Gordon at times too. But too slow (especially Gibbons) to make the final pass.
As hard as the front 3 have worked there is no real pace or ingenuity. And two of them haven’t scored in decades
Loft for Collins.
Then Evans for Coburn if he doesn’t get a penalty soon!

More slow patient build up with very little in the way of end product.
I’ve been watching Rovers for 40 years , most of it in the 3rd tier and the sides that generally do the best at this level are the streetwise sides that mix it up but generally play with a high tempo.
We’ve had a decent enough season which shows we’ve got decent players but we’re none of the above.
The sheff weds game the other day is a good example , we played nice football , dominated possession but our only goal was from a direct pass and we lost 2-1.
We do so didn’t really create much other than that direct attack which led to the goal.

With five loanees starting tonight, out of the six players who are ours, I’m struggling to put forward no more than two of them who are good enough to challenge at the top of the league next season. Apart from passing around at the back, can’t see we are any better than Shrewsbury. Not sure that's the players fault more the line up with no width, pace or real quality in midfield. |

Fast start by them and us being asleep at the corner has given them something to hang on to. Eveything from us has been coming down our right from ward and gibbons, but with 3 forwards up top that means we sacrifice a bit of width.

I blame ballscombe for their goal why didn’t he come for the cross it was headed in from 4 or 5 yards!

Street (14) is a little s*it around the pitch. Niggling away. We miss coutts in that respect. There isn’t enough leadership or shithousery in our side as well as us not playing with a quick enough tempo or any width. We are pretty on the eye most weeks and we’re not going down but we’ve got a young squad who pass sideways when with a bit of higher tempo, width , better attacking movement and confidence we could be doing much better. Also and I’ve been saying this for weeks playing 3 central strikers is so narrow we just don’t stretch sides with all this possession that we have. It’s like the ingredients are there but the method isn’t quite right. |

Boring game between two poor teams. We are so deep and have no out ball which is really unnecessary as Rovers are there for the taking. Dunkley doing his best to give away a pen.

I think we look best when we’re 451 , ( 4231 with the ball) it’s how we won promotion last year and I think it’s suited us best this year on the very odd occasion Joe has gone with it. |

Agreed, Too many central strikers on the pitch getting in each others way and taking up all the running space. The movement is crap cos there’s no width and in the area we have 3 central strikers getting in each others way. |
