I assume Coutts is going back to Scotland. I read before he is torn between seeing his young kids and living in rented accomodation in Bristol.
They confirmed Whelan is going into coaching as is Anssi so I would have thought they would have confirmed Coutts as well if he accepted the post as Joey seemed to have offered?
Glad Jones has been offered something, but that makes it stranger that he wasn't given some minutes in the last two games?

Is Anssi a good GK coach? Do we still have Warner? Love the bloke but does seem like jobs for the boys some times. Whelan I understand a bit more. We need a defensive coach! Also, McDonald maybe would have been better off sitting on stockports bench. May at least have had a day out to Wembley 🤣

I hope both will get genuine opportunities in the pre-season to shine and be a proper part of the squad. Then we will find out about what they can do. Sorry about Harry A and Paul C but not surprised. Another season at a higher level was just a season too far for Coutts and Harry A always gave his all but it seemed less and less as the season went on. Good luck and thank you to all that are leaving us. We’ve had 7 promotions and some have played a major part in one of them.👍👍👍👍 UTG! ps. But I guess just because they’ve been offered contracts doesn’t mean they will accept the offer. I hope they do. Weren’t Posh sniffing around Jones earlier on and after their failure in the play offs perhaps they may be refreshing their squad? Won’t be on massive wages so perhaps others may compete for him.

I think we waited to publish as we were hoping to announce Grant Ward as a signing .... and also to see if Harry Anderson would accept reduced terms which clearly he did not.
The existing contracted squad needs major quality additions if there is any truth that ' we will be going for it' -
Really don't get Jaakkola as Goalkeeping coach given his command of his six yard box was always awful as he stood rooted to his goal line.... that said David Coles has not added much at all.
Think we might see two of the loanees return ... and fully expecting Luke Thomas back as well.

You can look at it as we need lots of signings, but an alternative perspective is that we’ve got a solid base to work from and that a decent set of signings will put us in a good place for growth. Loans aside, a lot of the players who are leaving struggled to get in the squad this season as injuries and a sunsetting career stopped them doing so. I’m actually quite pleased with the consistency with last season going into next amongst the permanent squad. There’s nobody that we really needed to get rid of this time around unlike in previous seasons, I’m optimistic we’ll sign Ward and a few of the loanees who did a decent job. Then we just need to strengthen to provide the base we need to compete next season.

Automatic choice, Belshaw, Hoole, Gordan, Collins. Automatic choice if fit, Rossiter. Automatic if he signs, Grant Ward Decent enough, but not automatic. Sinclair, Evans, Finley, Marquis, Loft, Connolly. Automatic Josh Grant, if fit and signs. Hoole and Collins will attract offers.

So:
GK - Belshaw or Ward
RB - Hoole or Gibbons CD - Connolly LB - Gordon or Clarke
Mid - Evans, Finley, Rossiter, McCormick or Lawrence
Forwards- Collins, Loft, Sinclair or Marquis
Is Clarke likely to figure? If Collins goes you can see why JB thinks recruitment numbers will be towards double figures. Good basis but in need of quality additions.
Maybe 1 GK, 2 or 3 CDs, 1 LB, 2 or 3 Midfielders and 2 Forwards?

Belshaw won’t be our no1 I don’t think. Excited for potential signings! Will try not to get carried away! The Clarke contract is another example of JB being given a pass by most fans that many other managers haven’t been given!

I think we’ll need at least an LB, three CB (or at least 2 and one that can cover on the left) a CDM, a CAM, two wingers and an out and out striker.
Depending on outgoings and assuming that Clarke goes and Ward signs. Grant doesnt count as he’s a risk even if he does with his history.
Probably a GK on top but I reckon we could make do with Belshaw.

I can't understand what went on with TC, surely if he's good enough for a top 2 side in Ireland he's good to play for Rovers? If he stays at Shamrock he'll probably be playing Champions League football next season.
