Is it just me or does pre-season now start about 5 minutes after all the previous fixtures have ended?

They still had four weeks off though which will probably be more a lot of premiership players who will soon be on international duty. Especially Man City and West Ham players for example.

Especially Man City and West Ham players for example. The timing of the football season isn't that great for players with young families - their main chunck of time off only coincides with the May half-term, and they're back in training by the time the school summer holidays start.

I think most of his holiday will have been covered by the May half-term, and most probably an INSET day before or after. Maybe they are in private education, I think these schools deal with non-attendance in their own way.

In maths, teaching the fundamentals of an Isosceles Triangle and subsequent Trigonometry he utilised his chalk board from the training ground corner routine. Which is probably why we never score from corners.🤔

Being a bit of a lefty I'd be surprised if he sends his kids to private school rather than the best school around.

Agree with your last point but people often lose their morals when it comes to their own kids!

Plus the fact that pupils usually have to pass an entrance exam and interview to get a place.

The entrance exam is mum and dad agreeing to meet the school fees, although JB's kids are all youngsters anyway.

I think quite a lot of the independents use the 11 plus exam, so are wanting Grammar school standard intake. There are of course exceptions, Millfield focus on sports ability, although I've known non sporting kids who, as you say, have got in there because their parents can afford the fees. I read an article a while ago which stated that a large percentage of graduates taken on by the big 4 accountancy firms had a private education prior to Uni. Sorry, I've digressed a bit from pre-season - we need some signings to discuss!
