As people have said, we don't know the full story. When he was leaving court after playing guilty, Exeter's manager and one of their fans on the board were with him. So did he plead guilty to a push, our something similar? Blackman was the Exeter player with him that night, so I take it they are good friends. Would you take them both?? not for some on here. Would be guilty by association and knowing him.

Hope he signs , he’d be a decent addition, plus this place will be great entertainment for me in the close season I’m glad that someone who’s admitted assault by beating of a woman and is on trial for another is so entertaining to you.

Relax , I find the overreactions of a few posters on here amusing , your posts included, I don’t take football and this forum too seriously, I support Rovers and enjoy watching them in my free time and want us to do well , that’s where it ends , couldn’t care less about the other goings on.

Taking a step back. I have tried to find some more information although there is little.
It's said Brown's legal team will be defending him on the basis he was racially abused. If he was racially abused, that is obviously not okay and he shouldn't have to deal with that. However I don't think he should spit at, push, assault said woman/women. The CCTV will be a teller I guess as it must show what Brown is alleged to have done as he as admitted the one charge (whether it's spitting, pushing etc. etc.)
However big or small the incident, Brown will be get punished to some degree due to the admission and no one can say it is a good look for the club, especially given previous unproven allegations against the manager

Based on the little we know it sounds like a drunken mistake in the heat of the moment reacting to serious provocation. We don't even know what he's supposed to have done. A simple push constitutes assault. I haven't seen any details of exactly what injuries, if any, this woman is claiming she suffered. He made a mistake and will have to face the consequences, but if this is a one off mistake and completely out of character I think he deserves the chance to rebuild his career. I'm sure the club know more than we do. From a football point of view, signing one of the leagues best players who is still in his prime would be a bit of a coup.

I’m undecided on this one, if his court case is soon wouldn’t we have been better off keeping it quiet until that’s over with?

I find it amusing when some on here have been touting Blackman as a goalkeeper for us to sign. The very same person who along with another Exeter player last season had an altercation in an Exeter nightclub which resulted him punching another man. Suffice to say the two of them got away with it and we’re not punished in anyway. I hasten to add Brown was not the other player.

Has he admitted “assault by beating”? From what I’ve tried to find on internet it says that he has admitted assault.

Decent player, but after the bad publicity hanging over the club during JB’s court cases, I would have thought the club would have given this deal a wide berth.

That could be the one he pleaded not guilty for and it's not like papers to get things wrong is it?? We don't know what he pleaded guilty to. It could be a push, it could be a punch.

Thank you, didn’t see the Mirror article. So has he admitted that charge?

Too many judge Rinder s on here, no one knows the evidence, let's wait to see the full story before writing him off.
Ffs hardly Lee Hughes, Luke McCormick goalkeeper or Barry Benell.

A lot of assumptions being made there? Something obviously occurred to warrant Exeter suspending him even though he was having a similar season to AC, then releasing him when, under normal circumstances, he would probably command a decent transfer fee. I don't really understand how Wael can move from stating that the club are “firmly against any form of violence” and that “any individual that is found guilty of any such offences will be dismissed immediately” when JB was facing his similar assault by beating charge, to now apparently recruiting a player with at least one recent assault conviction.

He’s admitted an assault, which could be anything from spitting to a closed fist punch in the chops. Feel like the forum will go round and round on this part. If WAQ has green lit the signing I’d very much doubt it’s anything close to being the latter. All will be revealed I guess.

My take on all of this is: regardless of the circumstances of the incident, and regardless of what happens on July 7th, I find it totally & utterly depressing that for the second preseason in a row, we’re sat here discussing the ins and outs of an upcoming assault court case for one of our (future, in this case) staff members.
I wanna be spending my preseason thinking about what formation we’ll go with, what away games I wanna do, whether Evans is gonna have a better season etc. Not what the CCTV footage of our new striker is going to show.
I’m just gobsmacked we’re back in this position as a fanbase.
