Boom! I just sensed this could be the year. Alcaraz has been in great form and the first player of the new generation who I really believed could actually beat Djokovic. I had a feeling this was gonna be a cracker and it didn't disappoint. It's amazing the amount of people I speak to that don't like Djokovic. You have to really wonder how many grand slams Alcaraz will have at Djokovic's age, he already has 2 at the age of 20 and unlikely to come up against the calibre of players that Djokovic has had like Federer, Nadal etc. If he stays injury free. He will eclipse all of the current records. This boy is the real deal Hopefully one or two more will emerge to challenge him. The last 15-20 years with the battle between Djokovic, Federer and Nadal have been legendary in the sport, hopefully we will see similar rivalries come through with Alcaraz leading the way in the way Federer did back then.

I think there could be an almighty BOOM before long. Good call - what a final. Boom! I just sensed this could be the year. I don't mind Djokovic, I think that he like to play the pantomime villian some of the time. He did a very good speech, totally acknowledging the skill of his opponent, somebody in the crowd has a nice souvenier with that broken racket that he gave them! Best final I can remember for quite a while. I'll be looking out for your tip next year, and might have a wager on it!

It was a good match and I think you’re right about Djokovic acting a role, part if his motivation perhaps. As for predicting the No.1 seed winning Wimbledon, not exactly Mystic Meg is it? 🤔 UTG!

There's a new kid on the block folks, about time!, think Novak enhanced his reputation with his speech.

There's a new kid on the block folks, about time!, think Novak enhanced his reputation with his speech. Agree, and tbf, Novak usually speaks well and gives credit where it’s due. I’ve always thought it’s the British way, support the underdog and now that Federer, Nadal and Murray have more or less disappeared form contesting majors from the original four it’s only Novak left so whoever he plays gets the crowds support. Once Novak wins he usually gets a good reception whatever the crowds reaction during the match. Don’t particularly like him but he is a great tennis player, deserving of his position. UTG!
