New Austrian keeper (Rumoured Mod Ed)

Googled him and it seems that a little over a year ago he was first team keeper for Schalke and wanted by Rangers, Norwich (Then in the PL) as well as Bundesliga clubs.

Weirdly he has now unfollowed Joey (or been blocked hahaha) but still follows Wael and BRFC

Meanwhile, there is understood to be widespread bafflement within Rovers over the name “Martin Fraisl”.

For those not on any social media platforms, the Austrian goalkeeper has been discussed among supporters as the Gas’ next summer signing based purely on the fact he, somewhat bizarrely, has started following Barton, the club and president Wael Al-Qadi on Instagram this week.

As deeply trivial as that may seem, there have been a number of examples in the past where it has eventually proved to almost digitally rubber-stamp the prospect of an individual signing for the Gas before the official announcement.

Fraisl has played in Austria, the Netherlands and Germany and was most recently contracted by Arminia Bielefeld who were relegated from the Bundesliga 2. last season, and is subsequently available on a free transfer.

But unless he’s been sliding into Barton and Wael Al-Qadi’s DMs to try and promote his availability and earn a trial, there is absolutely no indication he’s on the Gas’ radar for the summer.
