Signed up, I wonder if the club will ever release the numbers who do sign up. With numbers on the 50/50 reduced due to not taking cash, I would hope decent numbers sign up and the Academy gets a well deserved cash injection.

Just bumping this as so much has happened recently and its fallen off the first page.
No doubt the sales and marketing team will promote this scheme next week at the Mem, but to cover the costs of the £10k annual prize, plus the other prizes, a lot of fans need to sign up.
Yes, you read that right, £10k annual prize! That a lot of pasties, programmes, replica kits and pints!
I am not sure how many people were in the Helpline and/or Sharescheme in the last year or so, but I would guess for the Pots to be a success, all those fans would need to sign up, plus a considerable number of fans who haven't previously been in similar schemes.
Maybe if you have mates or family who don't go on twitter very often and don't know about the Pots, why not mention the scheme and also Spend and Win on your travels, or while enjoying your pre match pint, or to the person who you dont really know but who you regularly stand nearby on the terrace.
Word of mouth can be very useful even in this technological world.

Will it run , even if the numbers havnt been met ? Think they need 500 ? They have already said it wouldn't run if 500 don't sign up. Even then based on the pledged prizes, it may not even break even. Needs a massive boost next Saturday. For the share scheme the players all joined, would be good to see the current crop do likewise. I signed up for Helpline after Alan Warboys came back to promote it at an event at the Crest Hotel and one of my mates signed up as Steve White and Mike England came to his house one evening. If Lofty and Taylor went to people's houses, I'm sure a few would sign up with those two towering above them. Maybe they should wear the Hale and Pace DJ's. (like Da Management!)

Signed up last night. Hopefully more people will hear about it through the programme if they haven't seen it online.

Does the club need to have a gambling license to run this?

Is this debacle behind the sacking of the sales guy?

Hindsight (or common sense and knowing your clientele) is a wonderful thing.
If the Share scheme and Helpline already had 500 members (some in both), surely it would have been better to evolve into Pots, rather ripping it up, missing out on 6-7 months contributions and starting again?
The prizes pledged mean even with 500 members the profit to the club is minimal - great incentive to join though.
Don't like the name. Immediately think of smoking, a X factor opera singer or Cambodia!
Still, lots of us over 40s - 80s yo have paid in similar schemes, Gold Bond, Rovers lottery etc.
Would be good if the new salesman gets younger PC savvy Twitter and the like users to join the party. Supporting Rovers is not just about matchday.

What did Manse say?
240 to go, you never know!
Ethan the new marketing manager has arranged for leaflets to be printed (Not sure if they will available in time for today), but still, a logical step to promote the scheme.
Tells your friends and let's get to the magical 500 mark.

The FFSC subscription was always used for sponsorship and other ways of raising money for the academy etc. What if the first £208 of this year’s subscriptions buys 2 Pirates Pot entries? Any cash winnings are rolled into the account for future use in a club/community cause whilst prize winnings, if any, are part of the end of season draw night. I saw somewhere parrot was going to talk to JTS and Hugo about this years FFSC launch and maybe the participation in pirates pot could be part of those discussions? Just a thought.

Just bumping this as there will probably be more people on here than usual, watching the will he, won't he JCH saga.
Surprised the club has not done more to promote it at any of the home games.

Selfishly thinking of buying a second entry, if it just scrapes over 500 the odds are good of a prize.
Oh, and helping the club too obviously.
Sign up everybody ( just now too many of you 😀)

I have been paying £21.67 a month in to the BRSC Share Scheme for over 20 years . I appreciate this helped the club back in the dark days of 2002 and helps the supporters club , but would it be more beneficial to the club for me to transfer to the Pirates Pot ?

I'm surprised with our new owners success in the business world and our professional approach and talk of "investing in the infrastructure" and "academy" we have to go cap in hand to get our youngsters the analysis cameras, GPS pods and strength & conditioning equipment they need to further support their performance. www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2023/september/A-message-from-byron-anthony/

It's good Byron is promoting the pots but surprised this is the first official mention of it after the season has started.
A full page advert in the programme and posters in the bars and toilets would definitely see an uptake in membership.
It's one of my bugbears that the media team only seem to concentrate on social media and on line info. I would guess a lot of the historic share scheme and Helpline type members won't be the ones actively looking for info on their phones.
