Swansea local time? What time is that in Bristol? 7 minutes later if you are still hankering after pre 1847 local time. You’re welcome.

It’s interesting watching two teams focused on high press and keeping possession. Good start from Rovers. Positional play when out of possession is impressive.

Thomas would have made it 1-0 but for a last ditch challenge, after a great flowing move from the back by Rovers.

Steady but unspectacular, as most preseason is I guess.
I think the missing link is a creative midfielder more than adding elsewhere.

0-0 at the interval.
Style of play, formations and linking of play very similar to the other pre-season friendlies.
Transitions that involve Aaron or Luke breaking into space on the right flank have been productive.
Sam Finley and Grant Ward complement each other. Both work hard off the ball and look for each other for quick play.
Lewis Gordon looks fit and dealing well with the Josh Key threat so far.
James Wilson still having to learn the close control and one two passing style. He is capable of playing long diagonals but not much of that so far.
Swansea were the best side in the second tier in terms of possession last season. They are playing slightly more direct under Duff.
A decent work out for both teams. Probably should be 1-1 based on clear cut chances.

We are playing a Championship side, we're hardly going to tear them apart particularly away from home, even so with a bit of luck we could be 2-0 up, whereas Swansea only had the one decent effort on goal. Finley and Ward look a decent CM pairing, Brown's been pretty non existent in his odd role between Thomas & Collins on the left wing, I'm sure Coburn or Marquis, even Loft, would have offered more playing as a CF.

If this game’s anything to go by, a more pragmatic approach seems to be the way forward for JB this season (understandably given the number of goals shipped last season).
Flat 4-4-2 out of possession, slightly deeper defensive line, and fullbacks more focussed on holding their position and not leaving the CBs exposed rather than getting forward to overlap the wingers when we have the ball.
We’ve played some lovely stuff at times when we’ve had the ball, too.

Cracking start from Rovers this half. We do look threatening when we have the ball. Enjoyable but still 0-0.
