I do hope that JM to Gills rumour was just forum bs. We looked so much better with him as the focal point. His nous won us several pressure relieving free kicks too. Agree with others that Jones and Thomas were amongst our better players but also that Azza had a strong second half working mainly on the left. I'm not worrying just yet. Think Big John will be on form this season should he stay with us. Said it before, I think he'll have a good season if he gets the game time he deserves. Millwall through and through, don't think Gills will be attractive to him.  |

I watched the game, you'd have thought we were the Championship side, I am very optimistic about this season especially with the players we have signed, would we have got players this good if it wasn't for JB, I doubt it

I think Thomas is going to have a few assists this season as he was regularly getting good crosses into the box. Brown took him header well and Marquis has always been good in the air. Bodes well for the coming season! |

Must say I was super impressed with both the new CB sand Keeper in the 45 mins I saw. You could tell they were 2 confident lads.

Wonder if our "plan a" for the start of the season will be start with the flexible attacking quartet of Collins, Brown, Thomas and Sinclair as we have done in most friendlies, wear out the defence with speed and interchanging position, then bring on Marquis (or a Coburn type) in the 2nd half to turn the screw.
Could work, certainly did the trick yesterday?

I was thinking of starting a thread about this, but I think our passing, and in particular through balls was fantastic against Swansea, and has been getting better with each preseason game.
It bodes really well for the forthcoming season.

Enjoyed the game last night and felt we deserved the win.
However, I try not to get too carried away with pre season.
Can we play that way in a full throttle L1 game? Time will tell.
Assuming we keep Collins and make 2 or 3 more quality additions to the squad, I do think this is the first time in ages we have a realistic chance of pushing for a top 6 finish in L1.
