So....for a good while the gripes on here has been about lack of transfers happening. People scrabbling around chasing rumours and posting incorrect stories no doubt. We find out there are 4 this week (potentially) and are we happy with that ? ...no...lets find a new whinge instead. I have wondered if that is the appeal of a lower league club . Always plenty to moan about . Perhaps the fact we now have to pay £5 a month to find out as something to do with it, when even the likes of Klopp don't charge a penny. I guess the appeal is JB's already pocketed at least £5,000 from subs yesterday alone. You dont have to pay though do you ? Did you never buy an evening post to read a rovers related article ? Or pay a licence fee to watch / listen to interviews on the tv and radio. People paid in the past to hear the latest news.

On the one hand, my mind is utterly blown that anyone could be okay with this.
But on the other, it's clear Bartonism runs deep in the fanbase. For some, the parallels to MAGA and Trump are uncanny - king Barton can do no wrong.

None of that. Hopefully the new recruits will be successful. What some of us object to is being scammed out of £5 to hear of news about our club. Along with a false narrative that the proceeds will go to charity. I thought the new account was to give insight into the world of football. The official accounts will announce signings as per norm. There is nothing in what he posted about making signings that is really meaningful so no need to spend a fiver. Thought you were clever enough to understand this. But, I do wonder why he has the energy to run this service as he is a young coach still learning the game, therefore he should be giving 100% to his employers, in my opinion. Not sure about me being "clever" But nobody will know if tweets are meaningful or not unless we can read them. To that we have to spend a £5 a month. Hence the term "scam", in my opinion.

But some poor gullible souls will

Or just wait for Bristol Live/World to update their websites or a follower to put them on social media, I guess as we already do with his interviews? Still not sure what the motivation is as surely he's not that desperate for money.

Did not have you down as a TWITTER or whatever it is called. Still do not see this as a scam as any real news will be elsewhere. Not sure what has happened to Bristol Live/World interviews these days. World seems to get most of their info from here.

My Twitter account is just a legacy from another period in my life is pretty much dormant and I almost never post on it. Local non league clubs use it quite a lot so it is useful in that regard. Why do I describe this as a scam? Look at Barton's marketing of it "Insights" etc...I can't wait for that. It's no such thing.

Over the years I have come to realise that there is only one reliable free source when it comes to news of this nature and it’s GasChat….eventually, and I’m not that desperate so I’m prepared to wait.

I user twitter quite a lot and follow JB - though not on his subscription service. The only time i seemed to read any of his tweets is after it had been picked up by a newspaper or commentator or on a forum like this and i then look for it. I dont know for sure but i bet Bristol Live highlighted his tweet within a few minutes of it being posted and in a way the fans are getting this information earlier than if it was just included in a press conferences - of which there don't seem very many at the moment. No suspicions just annoyed we've managed to employ the only league manager to charge fans to read his tweets about transfer updates etc, the fact he's still tweeting non Rovers related tweets today suggests he's not too concerned about still getting abuse. As far as giving money to charity he's simply said he'll contribute a considerable amount to charity whatever that means. As in the Depp V Rudd case, people can say what they like but it does not mean they actually do it and, as you rightly say, it’s vague, at best

Its not a Bristol Rovers account its a personal one so its not just Rovers news, going behind a pay wall means he gets less abuse or you can pay to abuse him if thats your thing and he has said any money will go to charity. So why is he still posting Tweets about Trevor Francis and EA today? It seems he's posted at least two Rovers related tweets today behind his pay wall according to Bristol Live, one about the new signings and another saying Tim Davies won't be signing for us. If fans accept this is all in order we'll soon have the club hiding everything behind a subs service. And you think this was not planned ? As the maniacs sing, if you tolerate this then your children will be next

For some, the parallels to MAGA and Trump are uncanny - king Barton can do no wrong. And to a few he can do no right! Maybe. For me, he can - and has - done right when he's kept his head down and focused on the job. It's clear he has potential. The problem is that he constantly wants to wind up others , loves to be controversial and the centre of attention and constantly tells us all how he's too good for L1 and he's getting bored of it now blah blah blah. He's an average L1 manager. Nothing more. I'm yet to see any proof he'll ever manage in the top League and to be honest, if things end badly with us - and I wouldn't be remotely surprised if it all ends in tears - I'm not at all convinced he'll even manage in the championship. I can see him packing it all in, saying he's bored of it all, becoming the Piers Morgan of 5 Live and all because in reality no-one else was daft enough to let this loose cannon manage their business.
