Just for info, but I believe the no 17 bus has a restricted timetable meaning that they don't run in the evening.(after 8?)
Thought it best to mention now so some fans can plan ahead.
I mentioned the lack of a bus (there were rumors that the no 17 was going to get pulled totally about a year ago) to Dave Bright to see if the club were going to look into alternative transport.
I remember Pre COVID Tom advised he was arranging coaches to home games from different regions like they did at Brighton.
I can't recall if they did actually run for a bit to the Mem or not, but it seems there could be more demand now.

To get an idea of interest the club gave indicative prices, which for Chipp'num was £18 return. Given that's about twice the train fare my interest rapidly cooled. It was a good idea though. Maybe others were scared off by the cost.

No 17 bus

The no 17 goes through the heartland of Kingswood, Soundwell, Fishponds and Eastville, plus others.
Would be gutted for an older or younger fan to miss out on a possible cup tie v a really top club, or alternatively spend a fortune on taxis or spend hours travelling miles out of their way.
On a more serious note, God forbid a non driver needs to get to Southmead hospital in an emergency after 8pm. The hour plus wait for an ambulance could be crucial.
Still, profits over people as they say.

Good of you to be pro-active on this, but, does David Bright actually know what a bus is? The train to Parkway works well for us, but we often have to grab an Uber as the bus to The Mem can't be relied on, which is a shame.

The 506 bus that goes from town through St Phillips,Whitehall, Easton & Eastville to The Mem and Southmead Hospital has also been scrapped. Wasn't very reliable anyway! Partly due to poor health but I usually ended up getting 2 buses from St George in the latter part of the season. I think a shuttle bus that runs at 1pm from the bus station via Temple Meads and then the 506 route would go down well if well advertised by the club. Similar services from Parkway and Kingswood too. Put one bus on first and see how much demand there is

Can Rich run a soccer special ? The promotion bus is parked up most of the season.

They complain about all the traffic congestion and air pollution in Bristol while they cut or reduce buses.
You'd like to hope that they'd arrange additional services for the 17 and other routes on a matchday whilst the demand is there.

What not covered by the underground or the Metro bus, can't believe it.
