He simply hasn't shown anywhere near enough to suggest he can play at that level. Whilst he certainly isn't useless, when he does make appearances for us it isn't like he looks a world beater either. Of course, he may do better if he starts more but I wouldn't have him in ahead of MT, NB or JE at this moment in time.

Out of interest is Ellis still transfer listed? The club was quite vocal making it known he was transfer listed but I don't recall anything since saying anything has changed.

Indeedy, both Hunter and Santos show there is a market for players of this type with higher up clubs that frankly we can't afford to carry too many of for too long on the off chance they realise their potential.

I know Steve Davis,Crewe manager, quite well and when i spoke to him a few weeks ago we spoke about a couple of players he wanted my opinion about,i told him i had a complete dossier on one and would write one on the other and send them both to him, which i have done.He knows he needs to bring in players who can score or create goals and have a bit of pace,so he was very interested in my opinions of both players.I do know he had someone at Woking on Saturday and has already tabled a bid for the other player. My feeling is that a) he could get Harrison for nothing and b) Harrison would become a better player at Crewe with the coaching methods they use

I don't know anything about Crewe's coaching methods but I still believe they play a passing game - and sorry but Ellis hasn't got good enough technique to thrive in a side like that ! He's a reasonable finisher but he doesn't contribute much in terms of bringing other players into the game.

I would not be surprised if Harrison is let out on an initial loan, by the end of this month.

Mark, that is exactly what coaching is all about, bringing the skills out of players and teaching them new ones,he is still a young man in terms of the game and with the record Crewe have they will be able to instil into him the attributes you say he lacks.Perhaps he has those skills but Rovers coaches are not capable of showing him how to use them we will not know until he moves
