Didn't think it was possible to bash joey on a thread about a brilliant signing but youv managed it 🤣. Honestly your such a belter. Great signing and welcome back Taylor. I don't think it's bashing as such. A few of us old uns probably struggle to take it all in from the penny pinching past. There is no doubt Joey has been backed like no other, but it is a results business, so the poster is correct, there can be no excuses. The money talk about football nowadays are just beyond my comprehension. Time for a few of us to realize the world has changed (and got more and more crazy) and just enjoy the ride. UTG and welcome back Connor. If you have the misfortune of reading Mario's posts youl realise it very much is bashing. I don't think I've ever seen them post anything positive about the club. They are clearly a ted. I don't even think they could bring themselves to post anything positive after one of the greatest wins in our history on the 07th may 2022

Great news. Always thought him and Thomas would return. Who will be next? JCH is next Eric, there’s the hat-trick. 😉

JB has been backed more than anyone in our history. No excuses Any facts to back that statement up? we were spending that kind of money in the Twerton days, it could just be that the reason these players are signing is JB himself, too much good news in one day for you?

Get a grip He's been backed no more than Holloway signing Roberts, cureton, hayle's etc etc Then the twerton years with the signings of tillson. , Waddock , channing etc etc Not every thread needs to mention your dislike for our manager who by the way has done a brilliant job in getting Connor Taylor back to our club. I don't believe we'd of had any chance at all in re signing him without Barton in charge as he references in his welcome home video and his fantastic relationship with our manager.

Class signing. Still young so have to expect a few bumps along the road but I have no doubt he can help take us to the champ.
Welcome back CT

JB has been backed more than anyone in our history. No excuses No chance. About 27 years ago Holloway signed Cureton, Hayles, Roberts, Ellington and plenty of ex Premier League players like Mark Walters,David Hillier, David Lee, Brian Gayle, Lee Martin etc. Anyway welcome home Connor!

Tbf if Kruger or Tillly or someone with no issue against Barton had made an identical comment, I'm sure you'd have agreed. It's a pretty fair (bar Holloway perhaps but he did sell millions of pounds worth of talent too remember!) statement if you look past the poster.

Magnificent signing. He's a young lad, with such presence and strength and tactical awareness. Can see him.being captain when Finley or Wilson are absent and definitely in the future.
Welcome back Connor. 🏴☠️

Personally I'd say DC had similar backing given that he was allowed to sign the likes of Nichols, Sercombe, Payne & KB which must have cost Wael the best part of £1m. We've also consistently lost £3m p.a. so it looks like every manager as had similar backing/funding.

Surely we can enjoy a very positive news thread on a fantastic signing without a negative mario ,Barton post again. It would be much easier if the mods created Mario's own thread where he can bash til his hearts content. Christ if we're bottom 6 come Feb I might even join him on there and bash him myself.

Wages have risen due to the Sky/Bosman factor along with inflation generally, no doubt next year whoever is in charge will get even greater backing.

WELCOME BACK TO BRISTOL ROVERS CONNOR TAYLOR.
Some Bristol Rovers supporters will remember with great fondness a legend of a former BRFC central defender.
STUART TAYLOR
WHAT WAS STUART TAYLOR LIKE?
At 6 ft 5 in (1.96 m) and weighing in at 14 st 6 lbs (91.6 kg), Stuart Taylor was known as a giant of a defender. In 1994, it was reported that he was the tallest man ever to have played for Bristol Rovers.
As well as his size, he was also known for his stamina, and between 1968 and 1973 he played in 207 consecutive Football League matches for The Pirates.
Between 1965 and 1980 he scored 28 goals in 546 league appearances.
He was very good at reading the game. He always seemed under control, getting things done.
He was a player before his time, a prototype of the modern-style centre-backs whose gifts were in technique and an understanding of the game that always meant he was one step ahead of rival forwards.
WHY THE COMPARISON?
Connor's playing style and physical attributes are very reminiscent of this former player.
Early in his career some supporters felt that Stuart Taylor was cumbersome and lacked pace. How wrong they were.
Connor's deceptively quick running style and physical presence disguise a real quality and high skill level.
NO PRESSURE. BUT....................................
