Ipswich probably fielding a team tonight that’s on at least double our wages and people expect a result away from home ? 🙄 Get real guys. Clearly someone that didn't watch the game. It was not losing 2-0, it was the complete domination by a 2nd string side who were in our division last season.

We were in this game for a very long time against a really good team. Played some decent football and carved out a few chances that on another day could have gone in. We were sat amongst the Ipswich supporters and the comments I heard were “They’re not afraid of us” I guess they see a lot of teams who play scared. Yes they looked a little sharper than us but we were competitive and I’m confident we will have a much better season than last. UTG Only looked like one winner all game.

So regardless if they’re second string at a championship club they’ll be better players . Or no club would pay more money ! Duh

Probably as bad a draw we could have had and can't imagine anyone surprised by the outcome. The manager at the game seemed happy with many aspects of the performance while at the same time saying we need to improve at the back and up front! sort of know what he means though. As others have said there are always plenty of shocks in this competition due to '2ond 'strings being fielded but unlike many other 'underdogs' we never seem to be 'up' for the cup so to speak , don't know why but there we are, on to Barnsley and i would imagine plenty of selection headaches for the coaches like ,and hers one for you, 'based on recent and current form would you start Collins'?

Luton shouldn't have bothered trying last season, in which case they wouldn't be a Premier league side now. Could say the same about Plymouth winning league one last year too when you've got other sides paying a lot more money in the same league. Then there's also players being used to each other.

You make a good point about Collins and it's something I've thought for about 7 months now. Let's be honest since Jan he's been crap. Hes living off the start of last season in my opinion and if it wasn't for that would have been dropped for the second time by Barton. He could have no grievances if he does get dropped again. Love him to bits but he really needs to re discover that form again if he's ever going to play higher up the pyramid.

Maybe it's all part of a plan when the transfer window shuts that he'll suddenly come good again for us.

It wouldn't be the first time that the managers words before the match in the early stages of a cup could well be; don't get thrashed, don't get booked, but most of all don't get injured and let's concentrate on the bread and butter of the league.

Not trying to upset the apple cart, but the only 2 players that I thought looked in the same class as the Ipswich players, were Luke Thomas and Grant ward, not to say our younger players are not going to develop into Championship class in time.
Ipswich have a quality squad and have spent big, so maybe I'm a little unfair but that's my take on it.
