Couple of Youngsters in Lawrence and Shaw may get a run out tonight, as much i like a few of the lineups i cant see them happening. Good to see other teams out there bedding in their youngsters last night, a lot of them in the Goals. Also seeing The Teds having 2 of there young players on Loan at league 2 Clubs (KAdji at Forest Green) and (Seb Palmer Holden at Newport) Who are Both the same age as Greenslade and both through the age groups neither as good as him (Seb even had a trial at Rovers and they turned him away) and he scored last night against Charlton. The others over the River certainly know how to bring on there Youth where we are miles behind. Exeter and Reading also fielding young teams. Hopefully we show tonight we can play some of our young and up and coming players and hold our own! Wael's letter, sent with the season tickets, says that we are hoping to be awarded Category Two status for our Academy at the end of the season, so we are moving in the right direction, Work at The Quarters will enable the Academy players to be based there.

Learned something new today from Bristol World. No prize money for winning in League Cup till semi finals and then it is only £25k. £100k for the cup winners. No wonder the ‘big’ clubs don’t take it seriously. This season's prize money: First round winners £5,000 Second round winners £7,000 Third round winners £10,000 Fourth round winners £15,000 Quarter-finalists £25,000 Semi Finalist £25,000 Runner-up £50,000 WInner £100,000 There is also 45% of gate receipts and a share of TV broadcasting money if your game is shown live. Burton accumulated £500,000 last season, so not a competition for the less well off clubs to take lightly.

Chance to break another hoodoo tonight. Bristol Rovers haven't scored a goal in the EFL cup so far this decade. Our last goalscorer in the competition a certain Tom Nichols 27.8.2019 against Brighton lost 2 1!
Who remembers the nights we had cup runs highlight being 2 1 win at Manchester United in 1972 when they included George Best & Bobby Charlton. Rovers goalkeeper Dick Sheppard saved a best penalty and Bruce Bannister scored the winner from memory with a header. This was in the replay after we held the mighty United 1 1 at Eastville.
Time to start a run this evening

Does tonight count towards JB’s stadium ban?

Really could go either way depending on team selections for both sides. Some strange results last night; probably reflecting how seriously teams were taking it.

Surprisingly no more money than the Papa Johns.
The winners of the Pizza Cup win the same £100,0000 runners up £50,000.
Plus £10000 for a group stage win and £20000 just for entering.
Sounds like Joey is keen to go for it this year so be interesting to see if he follows through with it.

Does tonight count towards JB’s stadium ban? Yes, that’s what is suggested in the Bristol Post.

Yes, although that's not accounting for gate receipts and TV rights, plus it does give the smaller ones access to an European competition, which they otherwise wouldn't have.

Does tonight count towards JB’s stadium ban? I’m sure it is, otherwise what’s stopping him from being on the touch line?

Dad use to sort Dick’s blue Rover when it had a prang (panel Beater - old school skilled craftsman)

I think we’ll start with a strong side, or at least give a few who didn’t start on Saturday a run out.

Crazy short turn around until Saturday so expecting a much changed team -
Might be a chance to see Taylor and Crama together …
Evans to get a start possibly … we are still very short of quality in midfield .
Will be watching on IFollow and think we will be competitive and could just sneak something !
Oh still no sign of season tickets or parking permit here in Somerset - frustrated doesn’t cover how I am feeling.

Does tonight count towards JB’s stadium ban? Apparently so, Saturdays game against Barnsley is the last game of his suspension.
