If those in charge of the South Stand project seriously couldn't foresee objections that may hinder progress, then we can all kiss the Fruit Market goodbye. Thankfully the Fruit Market is not a residential area. Will it have a South Stand.......

If the fruiter comes off you can bet the very same objectors will be right on the case if the Mem is being converted into housing.

And the greens will lose any green at the mem site the day we move out and a concrete block is built on it. If anything they should be encouraging a stadium upgrade.

The stadium that was given the green light at the Mem which incorporated Student flats, what was the expected capacity?

The stadium that was given the green light at the Mem which incorporated Student flats, what was the expected capacity? 18,000? Ashton Gate is 28,000 with seemingly no additional car parking etc required by the planners.

Jesus, there are people selecting object, but the reasons given clearly meant they approve.
Do people not understand they aren't objecting the objectors.
Gasheads you need to SUPPORT.

Gonna say it again. Can moan about the locals being organised, but perhaps if we actually consultwd with them in the first place properly... Do you honestly feel it would have made any difference to those now objecting? It's seems certain people that living in the area feel it should stay the same with no major developments, they objected to a Witherspoon's, they objected to a Sainsbury's Superstore and now they are objecting to the new stand. Quite agree, there’s definitely some group in the area stirring things up, over the years they have opposed the following - 1) opposed BRFC redevelopment of the Mem (2008). 2) opposed the Sainsbury’s superstore . 3) opposed Gloucestershire CCC floodlights installation. 4) opposed BRFC redeveloping the South end of the stadium. It would be interesting who is the driving force behind all these campaign’s.

These people really pizz me off, they move next to a sports stadium then complain about everything associated with it,any other city would be right behind the club,R soles the lot of em. You are so right. I went to White Hart Lane today for the game and all the roads were closed around the ground including the normally very busy High Rd, with barriers everywhere from immediately around the ground and leading to the station. Imagine the uproar if the section of Filton Avenue outside the Mem was closed off on matchdays. It's pathetic
