Absolutely. Cant remember a time when we have had such a strong back up of players. Our reserves would be good enough to compete (and beat) many of the teams in this division. Whereas in previous years 2-3 injuries would have derailed us, we have the luxury of being able to rotate and keep people fresh. And the window has not closed yet! |

An excellent second half after a cagey first half. I liked our new boys, Cox looked reliable even though on another day he might have saved the goal. Crama was pretty solid though he gave the ball away for the Cox shot that hit the woodwork. Lovely to see Taylor back. And Grant. Delighted for Luke M.
Ward was my MoM though Evans played really well. No one played anything less than decently.
I did when their manager got booked. Would have been the highlight but for Luke’s goal.

Missing word. I laughed when their manager got booked! Never liked him. Did he say only one team was trying to win? I counted four of our guys in the box when Luke scored in the 98th minute which shows up his ridiculous comment.

There's some pure talent throughout this squad and already a "gelling" (spits) of the new lads. You only have to see their reactions to the equaliser Saturday and winner last night.
We're going to surprise a lot of teams/people this season.

Just had a listen to Holdens after match interview.
He clearly did not watch the same game I did, saying we clearly went there for a draw and only one team was trying to win it.
Oh well I suppose that managing that lot down the road tends to addle the brain.

Chill, the guy is desperately trying to make excuses after losing 3 of the first 4 games this season. He’s under pressure as they’re expecting a play off season
You could clearly see last night that Charlton team has some very good players, just they’ve got a terrible manager.
He won’t be there by Christmas

Quick note for Grant Ward. Another top game, really does some great work and topped off with an inch perfect pass for the winner.
Looking at the player ratings was surprised he has such low scores with a couple of people!

Played for a draw, whatever that idiot is on I'll have some The BBC stats show us having 2 more shots on target and committing half the fouls they did (6 to their 12). Teams playing for a draw tend to hardly have a shot on target and commit a lot of niggly fouls to disrupt play…if we were playing for a draw then they were playing for a defeat!! Think he confused our passing it to and fro across the back line until openings appear in front of us as playing for a draw…it can be (and was for a lot of last night) a frustrating watch but there is a purpose to it. EDIT - just seen the real EFL site quoting Holden and then adding their opinion that he’s incorrect and not only were we going for the win but we were worth the three points. Suspect most Addicks fans weren’t taken in by his post match comments but any who might have thought them credible might have been put straight by reading that. |

Edit- I really hope Luke’s goal goes some way to igniting the form he showed in his first spell with us , leaving last season in the past where it belongs. I don’t think there were many unhappy fans when the news broke of his return. Hopefully now he’ll show why he was quite the marquee signing at the time. Fingers crossed for him as it’s also great to hear how hard he’s worked for it! Little side note After all these years of slagging off Rich’s promotion bus I think he might finally have me on board this time 🤦🏻♂️😂 I hate you Rich 😂😂 Forgive and forget. It’s so much fun watching Rovers these days. We are building something pretty ground-breaking. We are all in it together. 😂 Of course buddy we cleared the air years ago now I was just messing around, tbh with all the hate and arguments on here( which I hold my hands up to some in the past) it’s nice to have a positive vibe to read sometimes. Especially after this start! |

JB on the other hand makes a point of doing it, if the interviewer gives him the chance. |

Another decent performance, missed chances and a wonder strike or two to settle the match.
First of all it has to be said we're probably playing Charlton at a good time with a few players missing. But then so are we, so all's good in the house.
Second of all, that's three opponents we've faced that have tried to play football, instead of their go to of gamesmanship and time wasting we see do much in this division. Credit where it's due.
Thirdly, (linked to secondly) the ref was reasonable even though their commentary had disclosed he had helped them in prior matches.
Fourthly, what a great advert for 3rd division football, three on the bounce playing some exciting stuff.
Anyhoos, onto less important stuff...
French Bee fella heart at the defence is going to take some knocking off if your get your gig based on form. Crama....apart from one awful kamikaze moment, a virtual stalwart in defence. Composed, assured, confident, mature.... my m o m.
Payne or that Alfie wasn't going to get past him (save our mistake) come what May, so stick that £8k per week somewhere else....
Closely followed by Aaza....he could, on another night have had hat trick of assists. Once again their defence and keeps excelled (even though I thought he could have done better on Macca sublime winner). But AC looked a constant threat. With LT, AE (wicked free kick to set up the first) JM (skip!) and SS we have a formidable interchangable front 4! All we need is a goalscorer..
Connor is getting better and better, captain in wait.
Keeps could have done better for me for there goal, got nothing on it, not saying the goal is his fault, but disappointed he couldn't get something on it considering it was so close to him.
Hoole and Gordon again the weaker links for me. It .
And, at the time I thought the reverse of Saturday, out sub decisions were poor and handed the initiative to Charlton. No doubt Vale has been bugged up but I thought a bad sense of timing to bring him on at such a critical time - in the end we got away with it with Macca brilliant finish - but it appeared we invited them on to us ...
Lastly, well done Macca!
You have pretty much the whole Gas family urging you on and wanting your success. The bursting of emotions from all sides is what brings us together.
We so hope you get more opportunities to show us your talents in coming weeks..
A good win against high spending opponents and extending our unbeaten league run..
Onto Bridge over the river Cam.

Good assessment 0202b02ba, agree with most of that,
Cox did well in the 90 even if goal was a bit disappointing. Glad to see credit to Azza.
Think Hoole gets a hard time from fans, he typically is dealing with the most dangerous and tricky players. Thought he fought well and made no real errors.
The point on us playing good football teams is key. How will this team do against the dark arts/anti-football teams. Last year we were awful. I feel the defence is so much better to deal this year, but we need to prove we can beat this teams!

From the extended highlights alone that was a domination of chances in our favour.
Holden ain’t kidding anyone not least his own supporters, especially with that reception of boos at the final whistle. Lovely stuff! Another ‘top’ side that should’ve been smashed by 3 or 4.
