Maybe, but Chode needs to get his head up more. Flange was wide open and a good chance was missed on Saturday. From where I am sat flange just doesn't look interested. Maybe playing along side a fitter partner would help? Or maybe the hairdryer treatment would sort Flange out.

A few thoughts I had on the game: - We missed Sinclair a lot. Mansell & Clarke (then Lockyer) did a decent job of keeping us solid in the midfield and battled well, but the absence of Sinclair's energy, drive, and pressing through the middle was a big blow. - Gosling and Monkhouse were hopeless all game. Monkhouse has been one of our best players in the last few weeks, and Gosling has also put in some good performances. But yesterday they were terrible from start to finish - tracked back well, but their touch and end product was abysmal. Very surprised Dawson didn't get a run out on the wing for one of those two. - Defence and Puddy very solid as always. Parkes and McChrystal in particular were man mountains at the back and got their head/foot onto everything that came into our box. - I thought Taylor and Blissett did well out of the dire service they recieved all match. Easter also showed some bright touches, but you could tell he was getting frustrated with the quality (lack of) around him. I usually agree with a lot of what you say Steve, but there's not a chance in hell that I can agree that we should have paired Mansell with Taylor or Easter in midfield yesterday. Neither are midfielders, I doubt either have ever played there in their career before, and you would have wanted to have a central midfield two of Mansell and a striker away from home against a top half side? Lunacy IMO. Well-put. I feel Gosling has disappointed most games which makes Dawson's lack of game time baffling - he now has to wait another two weeks hoping to get a few minutes and he's only here for a month. Do not understand why we bothered to sign him !? Poor management in my view (on and off the pitch).

We've drawn one game after an unforced layoff, what would the forum be like after losing twice away from home whilst conceding 7 goals? Top of the form league, without a league defeat since October. Don't know what team some of these lot are following to be honest but I'm loving being a competitive conference side a lot more than a shuffle league two side. I REALLY don't like both personally, suppose it's about expectations.

Very good point if we lose the Lincoln game to bad weather DC will have to make a judgement call on his showing in training! If he thought this though we should have signed a week before the Lincoln game? Balanta is another odd signing on paper he seems a bit option than Dawson but never seems to play, his wages could have signed that experienced midfielder we are missing.

Tbf if we end up going up automatically at the end of the season then Balanta's last minute winner v Barnet will have been worth the wages alone!

tried to reply to last post but it didnt work? ref dawsons lack of game time that was the 1st time he was available for us and were 2nd in the league so it hardly makes sense for him to waltz straight into the team does it?

And if it weren't for the Clarke substitution being forced through injury in the first half I think he would have been the third sub on, I think that injury cost him his bit of game time Goslings performance might give him a chance of starting the next game tho

Trouble with Chode is he's always shooting wide. He barely gets into the box. he's far more effective when comes late into the box and puts it in the bag.

Maybe the view from the dugout was bad, and i can appreciate that the enforced early sub cut his options down, but 2000 gasheads could see that gosling was having a terrible day at the office. Nothing he did came off. You surely can't find a more obvious chance to take a proper look at Dawson. As everyone has said monkey is not a traditional winger so when things don't work out they really don't work.

We've drawn one game after an unforced layoff, what would the forum be like after losing twice away from home whilst conceding 7 goals? i know what you mean but being 2nd has massively raised expectations, and being 9 points behind the leaders (now 5...) with 'only' 15 games left and only 1 auto promoted has led to extreme nervousness. we have some very hard away games coming up and given woking's recent lge slump, and tough schedule, many gasheads saw this as a winnable match.

I thought it was winnable as well but I've been a Rovers fan longer enough to know we're not always going to win games we hope they will i.e. Mansfield!!!
