Reading between the lines were definitely in for him, just hope we don’t leave it too late chasing him and fail to sign anyone at all.

I'd much rather a younger lad thats ripping up one of the lower european leagues, 800k would get you quite a bit although the risk factor would be a lot higher. I reckon the club are playing it safe and going with the tried and tested and if he can keep scoring 20+ a season it'll do for me if it gets us up. Apparently Portsmouth are having a sniff as well. Hoping there's a plan B.

No. I think a desperate championship team will come in for him last minute. Surely he won't sign for city? If they want him why wouldn't he. They can afford the transfer fee and the wages easily. I wouldn't be shocked, but I don't think they would recruit the league below for a 29 year old. |

I think we’ll sign a decent, proven striker. Whether it’s JCH, I don’t know. We were clearly ready to push the boat out for Alfie May. I’m sure we’ll have a plan B signing and not the ‘all eggs in one basket’ approach of Tisdale. I would though like us to also sign a back up - I.e., take a punt on a goal poacher type from non-league, or a decent loan, so we have at least some cover if the main striker (JCH or not) is out injured, suspended etc. Otherwise we’ll have games when we have the same old problem of lots of attacking flair but no end product.
