A simple question for Gashead's who go to away games or may possibly go to any of the remaining away games.
The "fiasco" of Saturday's game is being raised at Monday's Board meeting so your input would be appreciated.

No, doubt we'll take 500+ to Gateshead, Grimsby and Halifax.

I think that each game needs to be assessed individually, looking at away capacity, travel distance etc.
However, the club does need to remember that they are familiar with the strength of our away support, and so shouldn't rely solely on officials of other clubs to make the judgement as to whether the capacity is sufficient. If they think there is any chance of travelling fans not being able to get in, they should request that the match is all ticket.

The only game left where I can see a need for all-ticket is the last game of the season at Dover .

Kiddi and Dover (if anything is likely to hinge on the game) should be all ticket. Gateshead definitely pay on the day. The rest should have tickets that can be bought in advance but with cash turnstiles available on the day if say more than 20% of tickets remain unsold. With an announcement to that effect at close of business the day before the game.

I'm of the opinion that all games should be all ticket for away fans all of the time.
How difficult can it be these days to buy and reserve a ticket online and if need be collect at the ground before you leave Bristol if you've not bought them early enough to have had them posted out? Most travelling fans know they are going to travel several days if not weeks before the day of the match surely?
If you wanted to go to a show in London you wouldn't get all the way up there before knowing you could get in. Why is football any different?

I had to pre book for the Sticky Vicky show at the Hammersmith Apollo last year.

Don't make the mistake of thinking that all gas heads can easily rock up at the Mem to collect tickets. We do have very loyal supporters exiled to all corners of the land as should be obvious to anyone frequenting the message boards. Anyway all ticket for all away fans for all games is completely over the top, it will cut down the number of people who go and makes no business sense at all. I do think however that there should be tickets AVAILABLE to buy in advance so those few people whose whole life revolves around football can buy a ticket, secure their place and sort out travel and if necessary accommodation.

Yeah, maybe making some accessible may be good enough. I don't live anywhere near the mem either (a good hour and a half away) but if I knew I could and needed to buy a ticket before travelling I'd make sure I'd ordered it the weds before a game at the latest to make the post. I 100% don't blame the poor souls who imo have been totally shafted here but how many would really miss out or not go to a game just because they had to plan ahead by a few days. Jesus, most of us have to give the Mrs a weeks warning if we want to watch something on telly, let alone go to an away game.

All Tkt can be a pain and takes the spontenaity out of life. look at Lincoln. What a joke. Judge each game on its merits. Crowd expected / distance / ease of travel / train stations / position in table etc. There is obviously a decent chance that Kiddie and Dover could be crucial matches, so those will most prob be the ones to keep an eye on. P.S. only 7 away games left and 1 is already AT for gasheads.

Why is football any different? not sure what world you live in Hugo but certainly not mine. away games are a delicate negotiation with bank manager, wife, kids, shopping / tourism opportunites for said wife, car availability, friend availability, health, etc. sometimes it is sadly last minute before the golden willy wonka tky is granted, and even then the car / train can breakdown and you're left with a useless tkt. Or the kids pretend to have meningitis symptoms. arse wipes! you name it... I hate things being AT unless really necessary. Life should be fun, not a bloody exercise in organisational and accountancy skills. Especially footy at this level.

I am totally amazed how many Gasheads go to away games to see so many lacklustre football matches. I appreciate we are now losing hardly any but I go to games cos I obviously love Rovers but I also want to be entertained and see a good few goals. Hats off to all you regular away go-ers don't know how you put up with it !?

No, doubt we'll take 500+ to Gateshead, Grimsby and Halifax. Given the dodgy weather at present I'm not sure I'd gamble on buying tickets for these games just in case it was postponed as getting to these games in midweek is a no go for anybody who works Monday to Friday. Plus realistically how many fans are going to take to, particularly, Grimsby & Gateshead?
