Some mates and I went to watch Rovers at Shrewsbury. We had been to a night club the night before and started drinking again very early. We got to near the ground starving hungry. A local corner shop near the ground would only let one of us in. We gave one of our lot a lot of notes to go in and buy any food as so hungry. To put it diplomatically, he wasn't the brightest of our lot but he seemed the most capable. He came out of the shop with lots of boxes of Weetabix. Some people in our group were furious with him. He said he bought them because we had said to him to buy any food and the Weetabix was on a special offer. We took the bix into the ground and some were launched into the low roof etc. Songs were changed so the word Weetabix was used instead of Rovers. We love you Weetabix we do etc. It was funny going through football songs so to include the word Weetabix. The weird thing is that we went again to the following away match at Shrewsbury (I think it was a cup match) and when entering the ground the away end was packed and the air thick with bix crumbs. It seemed like everyone had bix apart from us.

That would seem to be the definitive answer to the OP, bet you had no idea you were creating something which would become a bit of 'legendary' Rovers folklore!

I suggested to Dave Bright the club should look at some sort of sponsorship, maybe with a Weetabix Trophy to the winners.
Could have raised a bit for the club coffers, even it was just matchball or programme sponsorship.
It's the sort of story that Colin Murray and Clem would have absolutely loved on the old FL highlights programme.
