He doesn't half get som stick on this forum. The lads work rate is unquestionable. He scored two goals yesterday albeit disallowed ones. But dare I say even if they were allowed he still would get stick for something or other. I never really write posts that criticise other posters but you read through threads and as soon as his name is mentioned, he is called rotten. Hope he doesn't read this forum cos if it were me I would be gutted. I will add it only seems like a few posters, but give him a break lads. Be constructive about your criticism, not just lines like 'wast of space' and 'crappy Taylor get him off'. He is far from the worst player we have seen in the quarters yet he gets the same stick as if he went to play for city. In my opinion he's a decent player and without his contribution we may not be where we are now. Most of you know my rare contributions to this forum are usually stupid, lude and more often than not a water take, but felt I needed to make a serious comment on something that observe in most threads that involve his name. The lad is clearly Marmite.

I agree, the one or two people that slate him continuously appear to be morons though, so don't get too wound up.

There are people on this forum who believe you can pick up free transfers, pay them a conference wage and they will bang in a goal every other chance they get. If they cannot manage that then they are useless because they cannot do what they are paid to do. However, the Conference does not exactly seem to be littered with players of that quality at that price prepared to work for that kind of money, in fact two of the best strikers in this league, Akinde & Rendell, have both worn the quarters without ever looking half the player Taylor looks in those same quarters. This forum is all about opinions and all views should be welcome on it, however, once the players cross the whitewash Everyone, no matter what their viewpoint is needs to be getting behind them and giving them every encouragement! Stop the sideline sniping and will them on to three points

I think Taylor is a very good footballer. Clever, strong for his size and his link player is up there as well.
His finishing has let him down, but he seems to have grown in confidence.
He will never be a natural, but will be more than a useful squad player for us in league Two when we are promoted at the end of the season

Players and club officials do read this forum and would not be human if they didn't react in some way.
I believe that praise improves performance and criticism improves excuses.
I would also like to praise the OP for speaking up. Forums are a fantastic place to blow off steam and air frustrations, but they can also be very powerful and positive for the players. Can you imagine how SS feels reading the stuff we write about him. I bet he laughs at it, but there will be a sense of pride and determination to keep doing the good things he does.
That said, this place would be very dull if we were all happy clappy tinters. However, when things are going well people tend not to shout about it so much. Maybe for fear of jinxing it or just because its just not British.
So all that leaves is the grumpy buggers who then appear to be more vocal. It's not their fault that they are prepared to speak up when others don't!!
But if I were Matty Taylor I'd be pretty disheartened to read some of the stuff that's been written tbh.
There are 600 users here and there are less than a handful who say don't like Matty Taylor, but from reading threads it can appear that as many don't rate him as do. It's up to you guys to decide if you feel your opinion is well represented here. Is he 'useless', 'League quality' or 'Marmite'?

I come on a forum to express my opinion whether it be positive or negative. I don't think about any players coming on here to read ot not, that is there prerogative. If I was to be positive all the time then I wouldn't be me and wouldn't see the point of posting on here.

the impression I get is that for every 1 person who gives matty a bit of 'stick' there are 10 people who think differently....
taylor has received a great deal of praise on this forum in response to this 'stick', so not all bad....

The one person who constantly slags him off would prefer to have Buckle as manager,he also constantly slags off DC who has got every one of our players playing for the quarters again. Not many rate this guys opinion, so if his posts are read by players and management I am sure they wouldnt be bothered by it.

For me, he's one of the first names on the team sheet every week.
I think our game would suffer a lot if he wasn't playing.

He's a good player - very good touch for this level, brings others into play, works hard and intelligently IMO.
No individual has impressed more up front this season ( Blissett, Cunnington, Harrison, White ) but then no individual has grabbed the goal scoring charts by storm, Taylor included and some of them will feel they haven't had as much chance. ( Perhaps too early to judge Blissett on goals yet - doing ok so far.)
If Easter takes MT's place and scores, MT may have to have a sub role in future. Much as I like him, a regular scorer is worth a hell of a lot of good all-round play. And Easter may provide that as well. Ultimately, they all have to deliver to keep their place at a healthy club and I'm quite happy to support whoever can get us promoted.
But that's football and MT doesn't need to read me to know that.
EDIT: Forgot to even mention poor Goldberg.
