i love matty his only weakness is hes not an out and out natural goalscorer but some premiership and championship strikers arnt either,i actually worry we might lose him in january to a league club. For a fee? League 1 or 2? yes exactly that but im hoping rovers would price him out of the market if a bid came in

He's a good player - very good touch for this level, brings others into play, works hard and intelligently IMO. No individual has impressed more up front this season ( Blissett, Cunnington, Harrison, White ) but then no individual has grabbed the goal scoring charts by storm, Taylor included and some of them will feel they haven't had as much chance. ( Perhaps too early to judge Blissett on goals yet - doing ok so far.) If Easter takes MT's place and scores, MT may have to have a sub role in future. Much as I like him, a regular scorer is worth a hell of a lot of good all-round play. And Easter may provide that as well. Ultimately, they all have to deliver to keep their place at a healthy club and I'm quite happy to support whoever can get us promoted. But that's football and MT doesn't need to read me to know that. EDIT: Forgot to even mention poor Goldberg. I think where Easter and Taylor could come good is in a game like away to Grimsby where they will come at us and attack and we can play the ball on the floor more. Easter and Taylor will be lethal in games where we are allowed to play.

I don't think he is as bad as some think, and I don't think he is as good as others think. His positional play is not good,he doesn't stay close enough to his strike partner, and his finishing is average at best. His link up play is very good at times and his workrate is good. He has been our best all round striker so far, thats why DC picked him ahead of others, now we have Easter that may change,as Easter and Blissett may forge a better partnership. I certainly would not mess the team about just to fit Taylor in.

It's just so frustrating that we have so little football ATM.

I suppose the issue there is whether MT might do well as an attacking midfielder, pushing up and linking with the front two. He does like to roam and come deep a bit. When SS pushed up against Gateshead it was very effective. The question would be whether MT might add more potency to the attack than, say, Mansell.
Can't see DC just making room for anyone, but could that add firepower?

Goldberg has gone back, we couldn't even fit Balanta on the Bench Saturday! I think Matty Taylor has been our best striker & we do miss him when he's not playing. Let's see how good Easter is, interesting that it was Blisset that was taken off for him Saturday, I assumed it would be Taylor off for Easter so we have some height in Attack!

I think all the stick that Mattteeeee Taylor receives from some idiots on here is unfair. He is the best footballer we have had at the club for many a long year. The coolest finisher of chances ever seen in the famous blue and white quarters. The boy is class. And we should savour every moment he is here.

He scored two goals yesterday but they were both disallowed, that's a meaningless statement as he didn't actually score and he probably knew on both occassions he was offisde, so had no real pressure on him to find the net. Whilst I don't slag MT off his goal return his simply not good enough from open play, surely DC agrees with that or he wouldn't have brought in Goldberg and now Easter?
Unless your MT's agent to suggest he's going to join a league club after scoring just an handful of goals is, to be frank, laughable. In fact with Easter now on board you do wonder where MT fits in as surely the starting front two v Dartford will be Blissett and Easter? If the latter is as good as we hope MT will just become a squad player and may well leave on a free in the summer.

Why would we let a player of Matty's quality go on a free in the summer? Do you really not rate him then? Maybe there is more than one person that doesn't rate him after all?

Matty Taylor is a worker. He tries hard and things happen, not every time but I believe his heart is in it. Just consider for a moment some of the so called "quality" dross that turned out for us last season. If we are positive things can only get better for a team that pretty much had to start from scratch 31 games ago. If we had been in league 1 last year and dropped down, changed manager and 90 % of the squad and were now riding 2nd in league 2, we would be over the moon. We find ourselves in an almost unrecognisable league with poor pitches, dismal grounds and are even locked out of some games! Let's get out of this league asap and get some pride back at the mem.

Those knocking Taylor need consider the fact that no striker has seriously racked up the goals this season or last, They can't all be what these terrace experts intelligently call 'crap'. So what's the common denominator?
In my opinion it's supply. This season and last our quality in the final third has not been good enough.
This season we are largely where we are because of a good defence
