This wouldn't even be discussed if it wasn't one of the big clubs which had been impacted - but in answer to the question, Wigan vs Rovers in 2000 when our forward was rugby tackled by the goalkeeper in front of an empty net and nothing was given. I think the game was a draw and we went down by a point

I think the game was a draw and we went down by a point Absolutely. The worst thing was it was just so blatantly obvious. The ref rang Garry Thompson to apologize when he saw the highlights on the TV the next day. Absolutely no way there can be replayed games for what in effect was human error however bad it was. As they used to say it all evens out in the end.

FA Cup 1992 v Liverpool when a blatant penalty for a foul on Mehew wasn't given, and Dean Saunders should have been sent off for elbowing Alexander. Regarding the incident that has prompted all the debate this week - the Premier League should learn from Rugby where the Referee clearly states the on-field decision to the TV Reviewers and askes them to check whether that decision is to be upheld or reversed. The Football VAR system doesn't have any of those positively worded processes it seems to me. That was a terrible tackle and the most obvious penalty of all time. Hacked down from behind, ball in front of mehew. It was appalling

I would argue with you that it does, both seasons we won promotion the luck was very much with us. Just two examples, accrington hit the woodwork twice and could only draw, plus we couldn't have played a time weaker than scunthorpe needing seven to clinch promotion.

Ipswich 1978,still upset now😂 Said it before and will day it again, we'd have won the European Cup Winners Cup in 1979, but for that shambolic decision. #wewasrobbedbrfc1983

This would set a dangerous precedent, how bad does a VAR decision need to be to force a replay? What if you were 4-0 down and had a decision go against you, would that mean you get a replay? Here be dragons I think Exactly. If they give in to one appeal, then clubs will be demanding replays every weekend. I don't know why the premier league didn't introduce the semi automated offside system that is available and was used in the world cup. Whilst still not perfect, it would have at least solved this issue and probably many others as well.

Wonder if Geoff Hurst has still got his boots from ‘66. Might be worth a replay…. Always did like Russian Lino’s…….🤡

I want to see the Huddersfield playoff final replayed. Not because of bad referring but to give our strikers the chance to hit the back of the effing net this time! (Was it Taylor who missed that sitter?).

Ipswich 1978,still upset now😂 Great shout. Hard to forget, especially with Ipswich going onto win the cup. Gould’s goal was onside as it was passed back by their player.

But all of those are down to luck. Bad decisions are human error and yes they can even out but sometimes they don't. I think the biggest error in our favour was Puddy at Wembley. No two ways he should have been sent off. If he had been then what would have been the course of Rovers. Second season in Vanarama and would Wael have bought us. One bad decision can have massive implications but I don't see a way you can eliminate this. Replays are a definite no and VAR isn't working out too great.

Whenever i watch the highlights back of that game I still think Stewart's shot is going in. Imagine if. Fine margins.

Pre VAR they all wanted video evidence and reviews. Be careful what you ask for. Biggest curse on the game in my lifetime Yep, It was meant to solve problems but it seems to have just created new ones that are equally debatable. I would hate celebrating a goal that the referee has given only for it to be overturned. It goes much deeper than that. Out there in local or grassroots football the absence of getting refereeing decisions overturned is causing an escalation in abuse of officials. Local footballers see in telly justice in matches, then controversial incidents happen in their matches and they can’t handle not getting the same justice. I’ve seen refs on the end of appalling abuse.
