I suppose one problem with extending seating down from the existing East stand to replace the terracing is that those seats would need to encroach upon where the pitch currently lies, like the other lot did with the Dolman stand. But since the West stand isn't moving, we don't have any room to move the pitch west.

View AttachmentSaw this photo of Fulhams stadium I think something similiar along our east side could be good. I saw a picture of Charli XCX and I think someone similar could be a good girlfriend for me. I'd stick with Anne Widdecombe as your mrs my guy that's the type of woman that compares to the mem.

On holiday in France I watched a bit of Brieve rugby, their ground is being redeveloped. Can't post a pick but the main stand has pillars, looks okay. Until you're sat behind one of them?

I think Gassy is on the case….. Yeah sorry Q4 turned into a busy close last week. Did a little last night where I put some seats directly on the East terrace. So now just need to copy the build of the East stand Looks much better, behind that I would like to see a full length structure for corporate entertainment, Conferences, fan zone etc in the shape of a sausage roll.

Messing about on photoshop. This is what the East Stand would look like if extended north and south and seating continued to pitch level (click to enlarge).

It gives ideas Out of interest how many seats do you reckon this would be? If i have got my sums right this is over 7000 seats

The East stand with ends on it would be no good. If it is just continuing the current design.
Only way I can see it working, if the east stand structure remains...
The steps leading up to seating area block the view of anyone in the first few rows, I sit 6 rows back and can't always see the pitch. These surely would need to be removed if ends are installed.
Complete renovation of the space under the stand required and have openings from within out to the seating. Get rid of hospitality and create a big concourse with food and drinks bars. Of course with the added ends there will also be additional space on the ground, for a shop and hospitality facilities.
And as some have suggested maybe seating could be worked into the terrace... Though it would leave people quite exposed to the elements. If done I would like the seating on the terrace join with the uppers seats so there isn't a big gap between upper and lower, suppose that could be achieved if the steps are removed.

I wouldn’t have thought there is enough space either side of existing 3 blocks of seats for a further 3 blocks of the same size. It’s probably limited to 2 in my estimation (unless these are narrower blocks than current?)

It gives ideas Out of interest how many seats do you reckon this would be? If i have got my sums right this is over 7000 seats It was meant to be an impression rather than depicting a precise number of seats, but it could be roughly the same as the Dolman stand at Ashton, which has a capacity of 6,200. The external seating arrangement of the Dolman stand was similar with a raised wall and steps at the front. City added seats in front, but it looks like the discontinuity between upper and lower levels is still there.
Anyway. Just meant this to be a quick job and hopefully the club have engaged professionals with a better grasp of the possible to work up a real design.

Darn it, you’ve forced me to leak images of my extended East stand, which has seating on the current terrace before it’s finished!

Darn it, you’ve forced me to leak images of my extended East stand, which has seating on the current terrace before it’s finished! Think the current East terrace needs lifting a couple of feet. Front row seats there would have an awful view if using the current terracing. Reckon they could build up behind the current stand losing little of the car park. Just a few stilts as per IKEA or Yate Tesco/international airport (that's what it looks like) Let's go all St James Park with a wraparound east/north stand..... not the Exeter one

Darn it, you’ve forced me to leak images of my extended East stand, which has seating on the current terrace before it’s finished! Nice work. I reckon we could probably do away with the metal steps leading up to the existing seats if we can punch some holes from the current hospitality areas underneath, that would enable the seating you added to the terrace area to be a bit steeper and right up to the existing seats without too much ugly wall being visible. I’d like a large open concourse at first floor level in the East Stand with bars and food concessions. Hopefully a complete demolition and rebuild of the north will allow more formal dining and hospitality options?

Roof wouldn't cover the terracing/seats at the front of the stand. Might as well build a completely new stand. I love the idea of a designer explaining their inspiration for the design as... Tesco's in Yate.
