Anyone know where the regulations are re placement of numbers on back of shirts? Could the number be in one of the quarters? I see rules allow a panel to put the number in.

Is it Celtic who didn't used to bother with a name or number on the back? I would prefer to ditch squad numbers and names. Have numbers 1 to 11 start the game . Players then earn the right to wear a Rovers shirt...not already have their own named and numbered shirt.

Legible and central is the guideline. I think the only time we had numbers that were clear on a quartered back they were red 😥. Think that was the 'Toshiba' years. Looks like it'll need to be a panel

Don't the kits just go in cycles? Don't they do it just to maximise sales

I've heard a few fans and away commentators complain that Black on Blue isn't very clear so the legible ruling would be a concern. OK that the faithful know who is who but the numbers are there to cater for all fans, officials, commentators and TV audience

It’s not like it’s a permanent decision is it? We had a quartered shirt when we got promoted and that wasn’t that long ago.
I much prefer full quarters and think the reasons for not having it are crap but horses for courses - some people tend to like the blue backs. These people probably also wear socks and sandles.

Could be difficult coping with shirt size? Only sign players of the same height and weight...new club policy

Geoff, I’m just watching you on the telly now (ITV 4) Liverpool v Arsenal 1989. Perhaps you will get the offside decision wrong this time lol!
