Been in Bristol a lot in the last 2.5 months, my Dad had a stroke. He came home 3 weeks ago and we're seeing if it'll work. He's 89. Anyway, at his house yesterday and then I signed in to my Now TV and we watched Liverpool v Arsenal in between care visit 3 and 4. He loved it. I asked him if he remembered going to the match boxing day 77 at Eastville (actually wasn't boxing day but the 27th). He said yes, 6 - 1. I told him that wasn't bad as it was 5 v 1 to Wolves. He remembered me aged 11 demanding we leave at 0 v 4.
He loved that Liverpool match last evening. Watched the whole thing and we talked about many other Rovers games we'd been to back in the day.

Good evening all, just wanted to take a minute to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New year, and most importantly good health. These days people dont spend much time or thought on some personal words to their friends they just copy and paste some random sh** and send it on. He like me was brought up on quagmires, he said the big phrase for defenders was 'get rid', I chatted to him about Nicky Tenner and Whoosh and back in the day that got you into Liverpool. I was so pleased as I thought he'd lose interest after 20 minutes into the game but he loved the whole thing. I'm sorry as have just realised the isn't immediately Rovers related but hopefully there's enough to allow, When I was in Bristol yesterday an old friend of my Dad turned up out of the blue to support. He's 80 and from Kingsdown. Turns out he supports the 82. Annoyingly he's lovely. Grrrr. |
