So at the beginning of Jan we were told by DC that he wanted to sign 3or 4 players in this window. We've signed 2 (Easter and Dawson).
Will he sign anyone else or does anyone think that's it ?
Some have said go for a creative midfielder, I ideally would go for an attacking right back (in the Smith -mould) or if that isn't possible a right-footed CB who could step in if McChrystal or Parkes get injured or lose form ( I'm not a big fan of Trotman - and also worried about his fitness issues ).

That's your lot. Lets see how we do. There won't be another signing now I don't think.

I thought that was it but if Clarke's injury is relatively serious (a few weeks or more) DC may seek to sign another central midfielder. Personally I don't think that would be a bad thing even if OC was fit as he isn't that good and we don't have loads of options in there anyway.
By no means do I think/expect us to do more business, but I wouldn't be surprised if the club were weighing up a loan move.

If we sign someone, I can't imagine them being anything more than a squad player. Easter might have been a free transfer, but I'd be surprised if he didn't take a decent signing on fee - not enough to give us problems, but enough to cut the war chest down to a size where our options are extremely limited.

We need another striker to cover for the striking cover

I agree, Trotman is a decent defender at this level, he heads and kicks it, that is all you need in this standard, give the ball to someone who can play. I wasn't sold on McChrystal until the Barnet display when he marked Akinde out of the game, neither are world beaters with the ball at their feet, but they are both solid defenders.

imo we need a midfielder, especially with Clark out, if Manse or Sincs get long-termed, we're flipped.

Personally I think we need at attacking midfielder. Like someones already said, we'll be in trouble if Mansell or the beard get injured.

DC doesn't rule out possibility of making one addition before the window closes. Nothing definite, though. Full stories to follow on website

I agree a CM would be preferable or a winger/cm.

If we are looking to go up he might help now as a stop-gap but not in L2 (That's just my view of course )

We definately need creativity in the middle and cover at the back if we can afford two. Had a few injury probs in defence.

Keeper - well stocked with Mildy and Puddy
Right Back - well stocked with Lockyer and Leadbitter
Centre Back - well stocked with Parkes, McChrystal, Trotsky and Lockyer
Left Back - well stocked with Brown, Lockyer and if needed, Greenslade.
Wings - well stocked with Monkhouse, Gosling, Dawson, Balanta as well as Ellis and Mattteeeee, who I think could do a decent job there too.
Centre Midfield - well stocked with the Beard, Mansell, Lockyer, Clarke (though injured at present) and I'm convinced Monkhouse could do a decent job there too.
Strikers - well stocked with Mattttteeee, Bliss, Easter, Ellis, Lucas, Monkhouse
So in short, I don't think we necessarily need anyone, BUT, I'd like to think of Monky as creative central midfield cover. If we were to strengthen anywhere it would have to be in this position, but we're in decent shape.

Judging by your comments on the stadium thread and your political views that you openly stated on there I would suggest you would hope for the following. Someone who plays on the extreme left, someone who will do everything in his power to stop us going forward by consistently putting the ball out of play, passing back or sideways at every opportunity and time - wasting even when we are behind and fighting to get level. The sort of player who will handball in the area when we are about to score or indeed handball in our own penalty area to help the opposition.

I completely agree with dinsdale. We need a MF (preferably attacking) and a defender.

Clarke and Lockyer are too samey and a bit lightweight. I agree I think Monkhouse and Balanta if fit could do a job in midfield but if DC has no intention of playing either of them there then we need another player in that area. Happy with all other areas of the field though.
