Looks like the never ending saga of the A303 tunnel around Stonehenge will be killed off, along with several other road, rail and hospital buildings projects. Supposedly a £20bn black hole found.
Rayner to announce affordable housing planning rules being relaxed.
Telegraph suggesting a Youth Free Movement deal with Spain may be on the cards.

Capital expenditure is always the first to go in a revenue crisis. No surprises there

The issue of the so called £20bn black hole is we have to take it on trust that what we are told is true,we have no way of checking it's true or if we're just being fed a line,my trust in politicians is so low I don't believe what any of them say .

It's not as if they are going to write a cheque tomorrow for £20bn, these things are over years and the actual in year spend would be much lower.

Yep and they include potential spend like the Stonehenge tunnel so I wish they wouldn't do it,if there is an actual "black hole" then it should be calculated on money that has to be spent versus actual income ,not stuff that can be cancelled as that is a totally different issue.

I thought a black hole might be useful if building a tunnel !!

Excuse my total ignorance with this, but is the job of the shadow chancellor to literally shadow the chancellor of the exchequer. If that were the case how did she not know in advance about a potentially £20bn black hole in the public finances. Either the Tories were very good at hiding it or she was a useless shadow chancellor.

Either the Tories were very good at hiding it or she was a useless shadow chancellor. Both parties knew it but pretended it wasn’t a thing . Remember those future tax cuts your mob promised but Hunt admitted they couldn’t afford? Now Labour will lay the blame on the Tories for every project cut, every tax rise etc etc for yrs to come. Take your medicine , like Cameron & Osbourne dished out with relish for yrs.

Far right scum kicking off in Southport 🙄🇬🇧 A genuine question Yatton...why do you label them far right? How do you know no one from the left/centre threw a brick last night. Media this morning saying it was the EDL who turned up , an organisation that's been defunct for years.

Firstly , don’t be an idiot trying to claim it could be someone from the left who threw a brick . You sound Trumpesque with nonsense like this. EDL ….. it was the media saying it was them who were there so I’d guess they are still a thing . They should be described as a terrorist group imo
