That had to be the most ridiculous and biased press conference I've ever listened to. He clearly is not listening to people, never mentioned the riots in Leeds, apart from the mail never took a question from a right of centre paper or news channel and blamed everything on the far right. I'm sure women, pensioners and children who tool part in the protests (not violent) would object to their prime minister referring to them as far right like football hooligans.

You’re a bit of a plank ( would use stronger if allowed) aren’t you ? 🙄 Fancy coming on here and protesting for the rights of absolute scumbags to cause mayhem just because their vile hatred isn’t being pandered to. Used to think you were ok but this post changes that .

Used to think you were ok but this post changes that . Yatton that is not what I am saying. The violence was totally unacceptable. It's the branding of everyone on the protest as being far right. Last night a pensioner aged 73 was arrested in her sandals just because she cared about the murder of 3 little girls and was causing no trouble. England must be the only country in the world where if you display your country's flag you are branded a far right racist. Christ the left must have been having kittens during the Euros seeing all those England flags!. So let me repeat... of course there were members of far right organisations present but not everyone on the march protesting with England flags were far right. No more than all those (if still marching and and protesting) on pro Palestine marches are far left.

Interest rates cut is a welcome development, a few mortgage lenders getting ahead of the game. Fingers crossed 🤞

Below is a cut and paste from NewsThump, a normally satirical site. This time they're 100% on the money in my view. For anyone still enduring the lunacy on the other forum, feel free to use: "Whenever something awful happens, the thing that often gets missed as these right-wing racist rent-a-gobs all scream "terrorism!", is that this is PRECISELY what the actual terrorists want them to do. They want you nervously looking over your shoulder. They want you forever on edge unable to relax. They want you looking at the guy on the bus thinking, "Could he be?". They want you to believe it's Islamists every time tragedy strikes. These hysterical far-right purveyors of fake news are the best marketing team terrorism ever had. They get thousands and thousands of people scared and angry, often to the point of inciting violence against innocent communities, and the terrorists didn't have to lift a single finger to do it. By gleefully spreading misinformation and racist lies they are doing the work of the terrorists, for free, and the terrorists no doubt love them for it. So next time something awful happens (and it will, because the world can be an awful place sometimes), remember that any of these -herders spreading racist nonsense before we actually "know" anything are likely being loudly applauded by ACTUAL terrorists. I don't know about you, but I'd rather not find myself being applauded by terrorists."

Just on this, my wife works in Corporate Travel and more often than not (in the private sector) existing business trips have changes made like this to lower the overall cost to the business at the request of the traveller. As the article points out, it might well have saved the taxpayer money but politically looks bad so the changes weren't approved. But it's not an unreasonable request... ...on a completely unrelated related topic, the Guardian/Crerar have been fishing for dirt on Badenoch for a couple of weeks over bullying claims - the story looks bad but the only civil servants willing to go public were those pointing out the Guardian was asking leading questions... They go fishing for dirt ( as you describe it ) because invariably they know / hear that there’s merit to the rumours , in this case that Badenoch is a bully . Ask yourself, would that surprise you in the slightest? ...or because the journalist wants another scalp. The email sent out referenced her 'work on ministerial conduct' removing Raab from office. Not really her remit at all yet that's the reason she gives for contacting civil servants asking them for what is effectively private workplace information. Remember, no internal complaints have been made and the article here is worded so carefully you can't tell if the three individuals concerned were sacked, resigned, promoted or left for any other reason....in fact, read it deeper and it's entirely possible they were just being performance-managed and (like Raab) are complaining about being asked to do their job well...

Read a bit deeper…. How do I do that then ? Or is that when you read the words to fit your narrative? 🙄😂

Agreed he’s a bit of a knob and a Green now I think 🤔? You got tickets for any of the olympics France ? Those of us who are still allowed to engage with him on Twitter/X (and I genuinely have no idea how he's not blocked me yet like he does so many others) know how misleading he actually is. 1.1m people read his content and as it's social media it's often wrong and never corrected, but that almost pales into insignificance with what the Guardian let's him get away with...still at least there was accurate content when the Guardian asked for women in the UK to come forward and share their experiences of being “subjected to online misogyny” and Jones was named in several of the highest rated comments...

For example: A spokesperson for Badenoch...suggested she had found examples of “underperformance, complaints and bad behaviour” within her department. They added that she has “high standards and expectations”.So an official spokesperson can't comment on individuals who might have been subject to performance management because they weren't good at their job and the journalist can't print that. But that is the spokesperson suggesting they were demoted/re-assigned/left because they were bad at their job and - lets be honest - who doesn't want high quality work from top-tier civil servants...?

"BBC Verify has analysed hundreds of posts on social media and in smaller public Telegram groups to get a sense of the motives of the main actors involved in organising, encouraging and attending these protests, as well as those involved in acts of violence. It is not possible to pinpoint who started the calls for protests but there was a clear pattern - multiple influencers within different circles amplified false claims about the identity of the attacker. These claims then travelled across social media platforms, reaching a large audience - including ordinary people without any connection to far-right individuals and groups." www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cl4y0453nv5o

But…. Within minutes it would have been pretty obvious who they were mixing with as songs such as “send the boats back” and likewise were sung.

It's all a bit like the Brexit debate though isn't it?
That was really about immigration, and not white immigration from Eastern Europe.
It didn't matter if the Southport killer was or wasn't Muslim or actually an immigrant.
The fact he was ethnically not white was sufficient to give them an excuse to kick off.
No such demos when proper 'Britons' murder innocent people.
