Wow it’s salty in here, people! 10 points is massive considering he messed up ULEZ and has done poorly managing the police / protests. Should he be Mayor again? Debatable. Should the Tory? Absolutely not, all she had going for her was stopping ULEZ. 10 points clear after all that, it’s clear London is still a Labour strong hold. Now, who mentioned champagne? 🍾 Dig at me all you like. Your too kind to Khan (no surprise there) Messed up ULEZ are you having a laugh? he totally "f**ked it up some people face paying £27.50 a day to get to work and small businesses are being destroyed because of it. Are you honestly being serious saying he did poorly managing the police? Knife crime is up, we see the Met Police officers taking the knee, dancing the Macarena, painting rainbow flags on their cars ...try telling the parents of the 14 year old murdered in Hainault last week Khan has only performed poorly. Deluded! France , you’re and your mean two different things .

Then the votors will get what they vote for, namely....further expansion of ULEZ, pay per mile (which he denied but papers have since come to light that's what Khan is planning), increase in knife crime and murders on the street (and no Sadiq I'm not watching too much of The Wire). They will indeed get what they vote for and that now looks like Khan unless there are some very rogue results coming up. One thing that will be interesting is that whilst in opposition the Conservatives will have a lot more time to plan for the next London Mayoral election which is likely to happen before the following General Election. I suspect Khan won't run for a fourth term anyway but I suspect they will be spending a lot more time picking and supporting their candidate for 2028 as London is not the Labour stronghold many thought it was/is.... Awkward The race in London wasn’t close. It was Sadiq Khan’s most convincing result of the three he’s won with an 11% lead over Susan Hall. That should not really be a surprise. There were some crazy hares running around yesterday!

There were some crazy hares running around yesterday! My point was that this time around the Conservatives were weak in terms of their candidate and weak in terms of the overall political scenario. Despite Khan winning by a large margin against a weak opponent, his vote total was lower than he got in 2016 and not far off what Johnson got in 2008 (first choices, but also in 2021 if you include transfers). So given the Conservatives will be in opposition in 2028 they will have a lot more time to prepare a decent candidate with a decent campaign. Whether it's Khan running again (or another Labour candidate) they are not at all unassailable by the Conservatives...

Deluded! Why would they pay £27.50 a day when the charge is £15? Unless you mean because they’re going into central, in which case they’re getting transport anyway, because it’s cheaper, 10x faster and you don’t need to spend £100 on parking. Anyone rich enough to work and drive to central London isn’t complaining about ULEZ mate. I have no problem with met forces taking actions needed to calm crowds and get on side. That’s just good policing, if you’re offended by that then perhaps you’re the new ‘snowflake’? What I dislike with the met if their arrogance, leadership, response time and culture. Much of that is oh Khan no doubt, but it’s also on the government for their public spending cuts. Your entire post seems to be livid because I said he was poor, instead of ‘terrible’ on a couple of issues. Is that really your point? Yet you still support the Tories and back them up after that last 14 years? Do you not see the irony in that? Because some small businesses deliver in central London. That means they pay ULEZ if their van doesn't comply and on top the congestion charge. I'm no snowflake I just want to see the Metropolitan Police doing their job and what they're paid to do, which clearly they are not. I'm sure you are aware that during 2021/22 70% of metropolitan police officers did not make a single arrest in a year. My step son is a Metropolitan plain clothed police officer and my wife and I are embarrassed to tell people that (not embarrassed of him just who he works for).

Really and Khan isn't racist. Thank god I no longer live in Hillingdon. God help London. Elaborate Happily. Lee Anderson was kicked out of the Tory party for saying that Sadiq Khan was under the control of Islamists. Massive melt down with accusations that this was a racist comment. Imagine the response if he posted a picture of a black/asian family and stated this doesn't represent real Londoners. Sadiq Khan on the other hand posts images of a white family walking by the Thames with the slogan "looks staged and set up doesn't represent real Londoners" . In my book that was racist as it would be in your book had a Tory posted something similar about a black or Asian family.

So they’ve always had to pay ULEZ / congestion since it came in then? I live in London, half the delivery vehicles these days comply. I’d personally make ULEZ across the entire country, the only thing Khan did wrong on ULEZ is the expansion to the new areas, he didn’t give them enough time IMO. How many cities now have ULEZ equivalent in the UK? How many in Europe? Sorry France but I think you need to get with the times, if we’re really going to tackle climate change, pollution and respiratory diseases in cities, then we can’t just base a policy based on a few delivery companies. They just be 0.01% of the population of London, but I bet the produce some 20% of pollution in the city. What would you do? I wasn’t aware of that stat, no. I’m not really bothered by the % of officers, but the amount of arrests and response times. 21/22 did go up compared to the year before (as did reported crimes). But I agree on the met, they’re a joke. Now they’ve had a couple of changes to the Head, I’m hoping things will improve. But I doubt it.
