Hope he rides a bike better than he tries to play football, good ridance. What does that even mean, pretty poor thing to say considering he's a young kid thats never let us down. Personally I'm a bit disappointed he's being recalled there's a very good player in there. Wouldn't be at all surprised if we'd already been told he was going back which is why he hasn't featured as much recently.

Sounds like the plan was always to try and find a Championship club for him in the 2nd half of the season..

I thought he was decent, probably our most mobile midfielder. I'm not sure what his favoured role was, I saw him as more of a holding midfielder who could break up play and then play it short, but that might just have been the role he was assigned. Must be difficult fitting into a fairly established midfield of Finley and Evans as they're bound to have more license to dictate who does what.
Good luck to him, always seemed to be up for it (unlike some previous loanees) and hope he's gained something from the experience with us.

It probably sounds a damn sight better than saying he's being recalled as two separate Rovers manager's didn't feel he was good enough to get into a mid table L1 side?

I think there are some fans who think every Loanee has got to be an Elliot Anderson get real folks True, but they surely need to be better than what we already have otherwise what's the point in having them? Bogarde might be better in the Championship with more time on the ball, as he usually thought he had more time with it than he did in L1

In all honesty if he was playing every game and looking amazing I would get the Championship comments, but lets be honest while he was OK at L1 level he was hardly the first name on the team sheet ...... Suspect he won't get much game time if they do manage to place him in the second tier.

Bogarde might be better in the Championship with more time on the ball, as he usually thought he had more time with it than he did in L1 Perhaps but when he is surrounded by better players he may play better. Expecting a young player, playing league football for the first time, to be the finished product and out perform older more experienced players is a tad unfair. Jerel Q is a similar case, looking very comfortable when he plays alongside the Liverpool stars. UTG! edit: Apologies LMW. My reply was meant to be a quote to another post. You’ve made a very similar point to me. Apologies.

You’ve made a very similar point to me. Apologies. I remember the Astafjevs days. Looked good which was expected but when we played Everton he shone. Saw a televised game when Latvia played Scotland. Went straight through the back of Colin Hendry. Must have picked that skill up from us.

Got to laugh. An AV youngster is developing in the game and they believe he is ready for a Championship loan. Just because he didn't shine(in some people's eyes) for us, it doesn't mean he isn't any good or won't have a good crack at the league above! Undropable Tom went on to captain a side in the prem, Chris the crab had a good chapter for Sheff Wed's, Quansah is comfortable in the Prem, whilst many other players left us to do very well elsewhere at this level and below. Don't we think the dev team at Villa know what their doing? His calibre is likely above our squad capabilities, but our style and league cramps him. He came here for competitive 1stcteam experience, that's all.

Luke Thomas cuts inside so much like Saka and looks for the one to two, he rarely gets it but imagine him passing into Rickie Lambert with his back to goal? Bobby Thomas was average with us, now playing in the Championship. Coburn had a poor second half of the season with us, now Boro’s scoring goals in the Champioship. Connor Roberts managed 2 games under DC, he’s now played 53 times for Wales and is a Premiership player!

I think there are some fans who think every Loanee has got to be an Elliot Anderson get real folks Wouldn't that be fantastic. Unfortunately that is not going to happen again, or at least not in the near future. Not sure you are correct, I would say most supporters are realistic, and generally happy if the club habitually remains at least in the third tier, with an aspiration that the club may from time to time (promoted 4 times out of what was is tier 3) spend a couple of seasons in tier 2, before plummeting back into its comfort ground hog cycle.
