Colonel Gibson - Ex Army Eddie Jennings - Ex Scout Ian Holloway (if Wael never sold or Kuwaiti’s agreed) Joey Barton Tom Gorringe Imagine this lot together, you couldn’t make it up and if Dave Bright had survived (ex Golf shop manager, sacked by new owners) we’d have had one the best ever leadership teams in sport 😂👍 No wonder Wael was doing so many direct debits to keep the club going. One person missing on this and he’s a Gashead as well, Chris Sanigar, I’m sure boxing would have helped us somehow. Chris is a shrewd guy and a good honest bloke who would would never bad mouth anyone. Agree we've lost a potential top class management team - i don't think.

On Holloway. FGS leave it out guys. Bloke is a Rovers legend. Has family still attached to the club and is an all round pleasant chap. What is wrong with people? This all comes from an interview which some people have interpreted a certain way? Who Dam cares?

This all comes from an interview which some people have interpreted a certain way? Who Dam cares? What he's said is unnecessary and disrespectful to Taylor, and the club. I watched him at Eastville and was probably my favourite player at the time, but he doesn't get a free pass because of his past to say what he pleases because he hasn't been handed a job. If he meant well he wouldn't be bigging up Barton or criticising the owners, that isn't support for the club, it's self promotion.

I’ve no real beef with Holloway but he’s long past his best as a possible manager and his criticism of Taylor is unwarranted and needless.

I cant see much of a problem with the interview? He's got an opinion and it's not really disrespectful-unless I'm missing something? He is a wealthy man and doesn't need a job but he is a Rovers man and would do his best for us. Taylor is our gaffer now and we are all behind him to do well including Holloway(as a fan). In a few years Taylor will be gone but Holloway and his family will still be GAS.

MT has inherited a decent squad with a little bit of money in the club, so should be able to do something.
Time will tell, give the guy a break I guess but not box office for me.

He could have just said something about good recent performances but chose to say 'I would never wish anything bad on anyone, but he's not who I would have picked in one million years'. When Taylor has gone I'll still be supporting the club too, and getting behind whoever is managing the team

Can you change it to automoderate? Like the C word, and the P word haha! If someone types Tisdale 2, T2, etc ... Change it to Barton! We could own T2? After all, he did terminate Portsmouths unbeaten away record. UTG Attachment Deleted

It's an opinion isn't it? He said he wouldn't have picked him. So what🤷♂️

Doubt he's bitter at all and no doubt has a relatively comfortable life regardless of a Rovers job opportunity. I've no issue with opinions, it's the nature of the debate I find odd. Moaning about Holloways view which isn't offensive(imo) doesn't justify some of the comments on this thread. I'd guess that because JB is associated with his comments, it arouses the usual suspects to puff out there chests and sound off. Or at least that's how it seems. Holloway would be as happy as the rest of us if MT is a success at the club.

I'd criticise any manager or personality who would make a point of saying those things, he doesn't get a pass because he's supposedly a fan, it's worse in my eyes. The vile nonsense that Barton is spewing out these days should surely convince anyone that he's not fit to manage, if Holloway had any sense he'd stop bigging him up as it won't do him or the club any favours. The position Holloway is in, as in someone who gets wheeled out for interviews and such as a 'personality', why talk about his interests rather than showing support for the club if he luvs the gas so much ?

If I've missed him bigging him up then you'll need to point me to it? In the BEP article(this alone is a factor which needs to be considered) he says " I'm a Rovers fan and I thought the way he was doing things and the squad he was building was right" I also doubt Ian Holloway is that naive to align in a way which will not do him any favours. As for luving the gas. If this place is a gauge, I'd put him pretty high up the chart.

You're right I think to consider the source of the interview, it's possible (actually quite likely) that what he said was a bit out of context and maybe he did say positives that weren't published. It still looks misjudged to me, saying he wanted to work with Barton and that the 2 of them were right for the club. If he was talking as a fan and not about his own interests he'd have been more reticent. I've really got no issue with the bloke, he still has legend status in my eyes as a player and manager for us. What I find difficult is his public persona of professional Bristolian, pundit or personality which often conflicts with his supposed love for the club.

He was at the Mem back at the start of the season. Doubt he was there for any reason though. When the Al Qadis came in he was seemingly having a pop but now he’s allegedly been speaking to them about working for the club. Bloke doesn’t have a filter but he’s still one of ours. A bit like that embarassing uncle.

Well said, think Ollie would feature in many a fans 'best ever Rovers 11' and as a manager his team would be many a fans 'best ever' to watch, as for the interview I am pretty sure that all Rovers fans want MT to do well, lead us to better things and are behind him , just as i am just as sure MT would not have been a lot of Rovers fans first choice. What ever folk think he is a fan and has a fans opinion like the rest of us.

Stop disrespecting him by calling him T2 then. Ahh, are you annoyed ? Tbh when Wael hired Joey, I was underwhelmed; since BD Snr I have seen 36 (inc Taylor) managers at BRFC, with the common thread being they all came and went, during that time I have been watching home and away, and love it, WW and NC tickets bought I cannot wait, during that time I have never clutched my pearls in horror, we all know or have known some wronguns. I assess managers on the pitch. When people pipe down about Joey and them maybe we can all move on. Until then pot kettle black. I am more disappointed currently BRFC have only sold 550 for WW and 1160 for NC, seems to me there a number on here who do not love Taylor enough to watch the boys away. I don’t care how many games you’ve seen or how many decades you’ve been a supporter calling him T2 looks disrespectful and idiotic. Many seem to agree, and many of them are calling out the constant posting against Barton like I am. From my perspective he’s gone, wasn’t doing the business and should have gone. But has assembled a great squad for MT to do the business with. It’s unfair to call MT T2 just because a few posters are obsessed with Barton. Besides, it seems to be quietening down as MT starts getting the results and gets his feet settled by assembling his own backroom and playing team.

Not read, or intend to read whatever is currently causing a split in opinions. Although imo Ollie is a Gas legend, definitely in my top three all time best players,; I can never begin to understand why so many on here continually belittle a player who has walked the walk, gas through and through, and was good enough to regularly play in a side who use take the Sh*t apart for fun.

Blimey so we’ve turned on Ollie now have we? One of our most successful players, football played under him as manager very good until Spring 2000 when it went wrong. I wouldn’t want him back but some of the posts on here well……. Loyal and true eh? UTG! I’d have agreed with you prior to his dig at MT and seeming bitterness that he didn’t get the job. Why did he feel the need to have that published ?

Legend status fully retained as player & manager of course
Marked down for:
Backing the 82ers and wishing them well in promotion ambitions because ‘Bristol needs a Premier league Club’, seemingly unaware that would go some way to burying the one he claims to love. And hoping QPR did us over in a competitive cup match.
Funnily enough both of these statements were on TV in response to Colin Murray, if anyone’s questioning Ollie’s Gas loyalties most it’s probably him😄
